Voice of Experience Forum The Voice of Experience Forum operates throughout North Lanarkshire and is a Registered Charity, The organisation is steered by a Trustees committee.

The Voice of Experience Forum is an independent recognised charity working throughout North Lanarkshire to ensure that older people’s voices are being heard. Voice of Experience Forum work in partnership with a number of organisations such as North Lanarkshire Council, NHS Lanarkshire, The Pension Service, Age Concern Scotland etc to ensure that the views and opinions of older people in North Lana

rkshire are being heard. We have been working within this partnership to develop a strategy for older people living and working in North Lanarkshire called “Living Well in North Lanarkshire – A quality of life strategy 2007-2012”. This strategy will help ensure that older people in North Lanarkshire have a better quality of life, it will also compliment the Scottish government strategy for Scotland “All our futures” – planning for a Scotland with an ageing population which can be accessed on the Scottish Government website

The Voice of Experience Forum are always keen to hear the views and opinions of older people so if you or your organisation would like to meet with the Development Worker this can be arranged at any time.

Please help support this amazing service by signing their petition

As a lot of you will already know, funding for our Day-Support Services is being withdrawn by North Lanarkshire Council at the end of April. This decision will have a serious and detrimental impact on the individuals and families who rely on this vital service. For many, our Day Support is not just a programme — it is a lifeline. It provides structure, social connection, wellbeing support, respite for carers, and a safe, inclusive community. Losing it would mean increased isolation, reduced independence, and significant strain on families and carers.

We cannot allow this to happen without a fight.

We are calling on our CACE community, partners, and supporters to stand with us. In the coming days, we will be launching a petition and asking you to sign and share it as widely as possible. Your voice matters. Collective action can make a difference.

We would also like to sincerely thank everyone who has already shown support during this incredibly difficult time. In particular, we thank Jamie Hepburn MSP, Katrina Murray MP, and Councillor Adam Smith and fellow councillors for meeting with us so quickly and for engaging constructively at this early stage.

This service changes lives. We remain fully committed to protecting it — and to standing up for the people who depend on it.

Now is the time to come together.

CACE have been informed that NLC are withdrawing their funding of their day support services (2 days Cnauld, 1 day N Corridor) at the end of April. They are devastated and the people attending day support and their families are extremely upset and angry.

CACE are campaigning to stop the cuts and have lots of local support including councillors, MSPs and MP. Could they call on your support please? They have an online petition with over 600 signatures so far, and it would help them enormously if you were able to add your signature and potentially share this link?
