The journey to ConneXtion 2026 is officially underway, and we're excited to announce our first confirmed performance for this year's showcase.

Please join us in welcoming the incredibly talented Angel Coakley as a Special Guest Performer at ConneXtion - The Dance Showcase 2026 🌍🥳💫

Angel's artistry, creativity and passion for meaningful performance make her a fantastic addition to this year's event, and we're thrilled she'll be helping us bring this important conversation to the stage.

Produced by The P.A.N.D.A Project, ConneXtion brings together dancers, artists and communities to explore social issues through the arts, inspire reflection and create positive change.

🌍Some conversations challenge us to reflect on the world around us and the part we play within it.

At The P.A.N.D.A Project, we believe those are exactly the conversations worth having.

ConneXtion was never created to stay silent.

It was created to bring people together through the arts, to explore social issues, share perspectives, challenge thinking and inspire positive change.

This year's theme is Racism.

A topic that continues to impact individuals, communities and society as a whole.

✨️We know not every dancer, school or artist will approach this conversation in the same way.

✨️Some may explore racism directly.

✨️Others may explore unity, identity, belonging, acceptance, community or respect.

🌍 EVERY PERSPECTIVE MATTERS 🌍

CHANGE doesn't happen when we stay SILENT.

It happens when we listen, learn & connect.

✨ CHOREOGRAPHIC OPPORTUNITY FOR YOUNG ARTISTS 2026 ✨

Do you have a story to tell?

Are you passionate about using dance to explore real issues, create conversation and inspire change?

As part of ConneXtion – The Dance Showcase 2026, we are inviting young dance artists aged 15+ to submit an idea for an original choreographic work exploring this year's theme:

RACISM

We are looking for creativity, passion, authenticity and a genuine connection to the message.

You do not need years of choreographic experience.

We're looking for:
🌍 Strong ideas
🌍 Unique voices
🌍 Meaningful storytelling
🌍 Artists who want to make an impact

Successful applicants will have the opportunity to create and present their work as part of ConneXtion 2026 at Blackburn Empire Theatre.

Racism didn’t disappear, it evolved, it changed and it continues to affect how people experience the world today.

At ConneXtion, we don’t use dance just to perform.

We use it to reflect, to listen and to create space for conversations that matter.

Because change starts with awareness. Because dance is a tool to share what we can't always communicate & express.

Awareness starts with understanding & then action.

ConneXtion is that action & we're so proud to have created this unique platform to do this 🌍🙌🏾✨️
