If you are in the USA, take a moment to review and sign this petition from Adoptees For Justice to protect adoptee Judy from being deported. She is now 68 years old and at risk 😢.

“Judy was adopted from Taiwan at age 12 by U.S. citizen parents, including a U.S. Army missionary surgeon. Her adoptive parents believed she would become a U.S. citizen through her adoption. They did not understand that additional steps were required to secure her citizenship. As a result, Judy discovered as an adult that she had never obtained U.S. citizenship. Now 68 years old, she faces the devastating possibility of detention and deportation from her only home to Taiwan, where she does not have a support system and cannot speak the language.”

When you spend 3 hours with support trying to save $50 per year on a needed tool and still have not made any headway.... Thanks for not standing by your nonprofit discount policy, Zoom and Goodstack. Zoom support leaves something to be desired. Goodstack seems to have none.

Mike, an adoptee without citizenship, voices why citizenship is critical for adoptees: “Deportations of adoptees should not be happening. Adoption impacted every aspect of our life. Citizenship is a key to everything – including peace and security.“
Mike and other adoptees without citizenship struggle daily. Whether it’s accessing jobs or housing, healthcare or driver’s licenses, or being separated from their children and grandchildren, lack of citizenship has left some adoptees abandoned by the US.
It’s time to bring adoptees home and ensure that all legally adopted people have the citizenship their adoption promised.
Sign on to support the Protect Adoptees and American Families Act – federal legislation that would retroactively grant adoptees citizenship, regardless of the year they were born. (bit.ly/Support-PAAF – case-sensitive.)

Wow, I had the most interesting experience just now. There is a person who I worked with for a while at the beginning of this organization. She didn’t contribute much.

Tonight she was telling me that I (Andrea) should “work with other people more” and help others start similar organizations. Yet, when i tried to work with her 12 years ago, she facilitated me personally getting swindled out of $6000 of my own money by an org in Wolayta that was run by her friends (who I also tried to work with, which is how they stole from me). This was at the beginning and it was on me personally.

So, I worked with her early on and learned that people by and large cannot be trusted. I lost $6000, after all. And this is the person who is now telling me to work with other people. It’s mind blowing. When I brought up the lack of time for that, still, I am wrong for “not working with others.” I guess she is pi**ed that I didn’t continue working with her?! Risky!!

The thing about volunteering is that people begin to expect you to do everything. They feel that they own you and are entitled to your time. Entitled enough to tell you how to spend your volunteer your time.

I will share in PM who this is with whoever wants to know. She said I could post it but I am not actually that mean.
