Buen Camino Talks meets Erica, Ricky and Blue!🇮🇹🇵🇱🐶
We just ran into Erica and Ricky right after they arrived at the majestic Plaza del Obradoiro on their very first Camino together with their beautiful dog, Blue! 🐾
To date, they have walked more than 10,000 km and experienced many arrivals in front of the Cathedral. However, they shared with us that reaching the end this time was a unique and absolute emotional rollercoaster—a moment of pure emotion they had both been dreaming of for a very long time. Doing it with Blue made it more special than ever! 💙💙💙

Buen Camino Talks meets Pauline! 🇫🇷
Meeting Pauline in Finisterre was something truly special and full of emotions. She was looking at the ocean, full of peace and happiness. We started talking, and she opened her heart to tell us her story.
Pauline works with SEUIL, an association that helps teenagers with social problems through long walks. She started her Camino in Le Puy-en-Velay (France) with a 16-year-old girl. Pauline’s mission was to walk with her and help her.
However, when they arrived in León, the girl broke the rules of the program. Pauline tried everything to help her finish the Camino, but it was impossible. They had to stop and return to France together.
Back home, Pauline felt a lot of stress and tension. She realized she needed to recover and heal after such a difficult experience. So, she decided to come back to Spain, walk the Camino again, and finish it for herself in Finisterre.
She told me: “I’m not the same person I was when I started.” Her smile in front of the sea proved that the Camino always changes you and gives you what you need ☺️
Thank you, Pauline! ¡Buen Camino! 💛🫶

Buen Camino Talks meets Ana! 🇵🇹
Running into a special fellow pilgrim from the Portuguese Way by chance in Santiago was an incredible, emotional gift, and we just had to ask her to share her thoughts.
Ana simply embodies all the values of a true pilgrim. For her, the Camino means helping others by doing good; peace, love, and life are her core pillars of the journey.
She speaks straight from the heart in a beautifully simple way that touches everyone’s soul.
Ana has many kilometers under her belt, but her emotion is always the same—or maybe even stronger—every time she arrives in Santiago.
Thank you so much, Ana, for helping us understand the true meaning of the Camino once again!

Buen Camino Talks meets Juan (DisCamino) and Nacho (B-Life)! 🇪🇸
Experiencing the end of a Camino de Santiago in the Plaza del Obradoiro is always magical, but what we witnessed this time was a true gift! We had the immense honor of crossing paths with an incredible group of pilgrims who had just completed their goal. It was one of those encounters that leaves a mark on you and reminds you of the true essence of life.
We had the big pleasure to chat with Juan, organizer of DisCamino, and Nacho, president of B-Life organization. Both organizations have joined forces in this adventure to prove their great motto:
“DON’T LET ANYONE SAY YOU CAN’T!”
The story behind a dream: How DisCamino was born
This beautiful initiative, driven by its president Javier Pitillas, was born in August 2009. It all started thanks to Gerardo, a deafblind young man from Vigo who managed to complete his first Camino de Santiago pedaling on a Copilot (a donated tandem tricycle).
Upon reaching the Cathedral square, after celebrating the success of the route, Gerardo said some words to Javier that changed everything:
“Javier, look for more people with problems like me to do the Camino for many years.”
And he certainly did! What started as one young man’s wish has become an unstoppable movement: to date, DisCamino has organized 142 Caminos for 850 pilgrims, all thanks to the unconditional support of their 101 volunteers.
We want to take this opportunity to give an immense thank you to the long list of major collaborators and companies supporting this project. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts to everyone who, through their donations and great commitment, makes this dream a reality on every single Camino. DisCamino and B-Life show us, in the most elegant and purest way, that the Camino de Santiago truly is for everyone💛💛💛

Buen Camino Talks meets Laurent and Abies! 🇫🇷
Wow! We have met an inspiring French pilgrim, and his unstoppable donkey, Abies (16 years old). Together, they walked all the way from Lourdes to Santiago de Compostela in 56 days, and now they are doing the Camino in reverse via the Northern Way!
Laurent shared a beautiful moment from his journey: arriving at the cathedral at 6:30 AM in complete peace, with only 20 people around. Even the Guardia Civil was incredibly kind, letting him and Abies enjoy the square before they moved to a nearby park for two days.
Laurent takes care of Abies like a child—ensuring good food and shelter from the harsh weather—so this strong companion can live a long, happy life up to 25 years. For Laurent, happiness is defined by two colors: the green of nature and the blue of the ocean. They share everything, splitting the weight of the journey; Laurent carries his backpack, while Abies carries the tent they sleep in and some food.
Thank you, Laurent, for your warmth, your incredible joy for life, and for giving us so much to reflect. Buen Camino! 💛

Buen Camino Talks meets John! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿
Sometimes, the Camino brings extraordinary souls into your life. Meeting John on the Camino del Norte in Villaviciosa was one of those magical moments.
Filled with excitement for his current Camino, John also shared details of the incredible charity journey he took on last year. He walked all the way from England, passing through Mont-Saint-Michel to connect with the Camino Francés. He then continued through the Camino de San Salvador and the Camino Primitivo, pushing onward to Santiago and Fisterra, before finally wrapping up in Muxia
But this wasn’t just a walk. John was walking to make a difference, raising around €6,000 for a children’s hospice. 💛 www.juliashouse.org 💛
With him, he always carries his guitar. The most beautiful part? He actually learned how to play it during his pilgrimage last year, taught by the fellow pilgrims he met along the way. It’s true what they say: when you ask the Camino for something, the Camino always provides.
Thank you, John, for your time, your music, and for being a true pilgrim with a massive heart. You are pure inspiration! 🫶🫶🫶

Buen Camino Talks meets Françoise! 🇫🇷
We met Françoise during a tough climb along the Northern Way. She was taking a break, and we stopped to talk.
She told us about her life. She has walked so many Caminos in the last 25 years—even more than she says! Françoise is a truly special person. You can feel her calm energy, her beautiful smile, and her deep love for walking and for life. 💛
Meeting her reminded us that the Camino is all about the people you find along the way. Thank you for your light, Françoise! Buen Camino! ☺️

1. French Way from Oloron (France, via the Aragonese Way) to Santiago.
2. Northern Way from Irún to Santiago (via the Primitive Way).

Buen Camino Talks meets Sheila and Caoimhe! 🇮🇪
There is something truly beautiful about seeing a mother and daughter walking the Camino together, side by side.
They absolutely loved the charming villages and the stunning nature along the Portuguese Way, making each single day a completely unique experience for them.
A massive thank you to both of them for opening their hearts and sharing their feelings!
Buen Camino! 💛

Buen Camino Talks meets Luca! 🇮🇹
We met Luca on the Northern Way, a true veteran of the Camino de Santiago! His journey started on the Camino Francés all the way from Lourdes to Santiago, continuing to the very end of the world in Finisterre and Muxía.
But he didn’t stop there. Luca took on an epic coast-to-coast challenge, starting from Cádiz in the south, walking up the Vía de la Plata to Santiago, and then completing the Camino Inglés in reverse all the way to Ferrol. A massive south-to-north journey across Spain!
After thousands of kilometers, Luca shared a profound lesson with us. He told us: “I wanted to feel human again.” And through this journey, he discovered that true happiness lies in appreciating the smallest things in life.
And his ultimate project? To share the magic of the Camino by walking side by side with his father and brother one day. 💛
Bonus fact: Luca is also an author! He has captured his incredible experiences in his book: “Luca Botton: La Fine e’ solo l’inizio, Diario di un Cammino” (available on Amazon).

Buen Camino Talks meets Brian! 🇮🇪
Brian walked the Sanabrés Way, the stunning continuation of the Vía de la Plata from A Gudiña. On this quiet, solitary route, he found the perfect space to reflect and listen. Brian shares a beautiful perspective on his 200km journey: “You have to listen for the tiny little voice of God... I walked the Camino with my ears as open as possible.” Watch as he describes the joy of arriving in Santiago and the power of staying connected to people and the world! Buen Camino Brian! 💛 🇮🇪
