🧡 We're incredibly proud to share a milestone for IBC Network Foundation Canada.

This week, our Board Member and Patient Advocate, Michelle Nicholas, is representing our community at the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) Special Conference on Rare Cancers, where she is presenting our first research poster at an international scientific conference.

Our poster shares the lived experiences of Canadians diagnosed with inflammatory breast cancer, highlighting the devastating impact of diagnostic delays, gaps in care, and the urgent need for change. Through patient stories and video messages, we're ensuring that the voices of those living with this disease are helping shape conversations within the research community.

One of the most inspiring themes of this conference is the growing commitment to international collaboration. When it comes to rare cancers like inflammatory breast cancer, no single researcher, institution, or country has all the answers. By sharing tissue samples, data, research plans, and discoveries across borders, researchers can accelerate progress and move promising treatments forward faster than ever before.

Michelle also had the opportunity to attend a presentation by Dr. Devi, who shared exciting inflammatory breast cancer research that may help identify new targets for future treatments. It was wonderful to connect with researchers who share our commitment to improving outcomes for people diagnosed with IBC, and we look forward to future opportunities to work together.

This conference is a reminder that patient voices belong at the research table. Research is stronger when it reflects lived experience, and collaboration gives us hope that progress for rare diseases like IBC will continue to accelerate.

Thank you, Michelle, for representing the Canadian IBC community with such passion and dedication. We couldn't be prouder.
Thank you to every patient who shared their story and video. This poster wouldn't have been possible without you. Your voices are making a difference!

Together We CAN. 🧡

The IBC Network Foundation Canada is heartbroken to learn of the passing of Jennifer Beatty.

Jen was a passionate advocate, fundraiser, connector, and champion for those affected by inflammatory breast cancer and triple-negative breast cancer. Through her Tea for Advocacy event, she brought together clinicians, researchers, pathologists, meeting industry partners, patients, and advocates, raising significant funds for research and fostering meaningful collaboration across the cancer community.

Jen believed deeply in the power of bringing people together to create change. She challenged us to think bigger, work harder, and never stop pushing for better outcomes for those living with IBC. Her passion, determination, and generosity inspired many and helped move important conversations and initiatives forward.

Her impact will continue to be felt through the people she inspired, the connections she created, and the work she helped set in motion.

We extend our deepest condolences to Jen's family, friends, colleagues, and all those whose lives she touched.

Thank you, Jen, for all that you gave to this community. Your legacy lives on. 🧡

WE DID IT! 🧡

Together, we reached our $10,000 Move for More goal.

To everyone who donated, fundraised, walked, biked, ran, shared a post, told a friend, or helped spread awareness about inflammatory breast cancer — THANK YOU!

This campaign was never just about a dollar amount.

It was about bringing attention to a disease that is still too often missed, misunderstood, and underfunded. It was about supporting patients, strengthening advocacy efforts, advancing education, and helping build a future where more people receive the right diagnosis and treatment when it matters most.

Because of YOU, we are able to continue doing that work.

We are incredibly grateful for this community and for everyone who helped us cross the finish line.

Together, we CAN. 🧡

Last night during one of our IBC support chats, a woman shared that she was being advised to pursue a treatment approach that does not align with evidence-based care for inflammatory breast cancer.

And sadly, this is not uncommon.

Not because healthcare providers don’t care or aren’t trying, but because there is still not enough education, awareness, or standardized guidance focused specifically on IBC.

Inflammatory breast cancer is aggressive, fast-moving, and requires a very specific treatment approach. When that approach is not followed, the consequences for patients can be devastating.

This is exactly why campaigns like Move for More matter.

Until awareness, education, research, and recognition around IBC improve, stories like this will continue happening.

We have 6 days left and are so close to our goal.

9 days left… and we’re SO close to our $10,000 goal. 🧡

For a disease that is so aggressive, so deadly, and still so underrecognized, watching people rally around Move for More this month has been incredible.

This community has already raised almost $8,000 for inflammatory breast cancer.

People have been walking, biking, running, sharing their stories, posting IBC facts, and helping shine a light on a disease that still doesn’t get the attention or funding it deserves.

Several participants have already reached their original goals — and raised them even higher. 🙏

We’re now at $7,934 of our $10,000 goal.

Will you help us reach it together in the final days? 🧡

Today we’re celebrating Terry Lynn Arnold, 🧡

For years, Terry has turned grief, lived experience, and relentless advocacy into action for the inflammatory breast cancer community. She has been one of the strongest voices pushing to make sure IBC is seen, recognized, researched, and taken seriously.

So much of the awareness, connection, support, and research momentum in the IBC space today exists because Terry refused to let this disease remain invisible.

Happy Birthday, Terry! Here’s to many more sunsets, more progress, and continuing to push this space forward together. 💪 🧡

When we choose to learn and offer support, we help ensure that no experience is lost or overlooked. Knowledge drives progress, and progress leads to better outcomes for those facing inflammatory breast cancer.

Your contribution helps maintain this momentum. Visit theibcnetwork.org/donate to get involved.

Mother’s Day can hold a lot of emotions in the IBC community. 🧡

Today we’re thinking of the mothers facing inflammatory breast cancer, the families trying to hold onto every moment, and the loved ones carrying both gratitude and grief at the same time.

This Mother’s Day, we Move for More.

More awareness.
More research.
More support.
More time.
More tomorrows.

Move for More is about more than movement.

It’s about raising awareness for a disease that is still too often missed, misunderstood, and diagnosed too late.

Inflammatory Breast Cancer is aggressive, fast-moving, and doesn’t usually present the way people expect breast cancer to look.

That’s why we keep talking about it.
That’s why we keep showing up.
And that’s why campaigns like Move for More matter.

Every walk, workout, bike ride, stretch, share, and donation helps push awareness further.
