Northern Mosaic Network's Rainbow Youth Centre will be closed for the month of September as we take time to reorganize the space and update our program and service offerings.

During this time, accessing services like our gender gear closet, community closet, sexual health resources, information pamplets, etc. will be through appointment only. This can be arranged by messaging us on our Facebook/Instagram or by sending an email to [email protected] and we will do our best to schedule your appointment in a timely manner.

We apologize for any inconvenience this closure may cause, and look forward to seeing you again in October when the centre re-opens!

🏳️‍⚧️ Today is the LAST DAY to apply to join our 2STGD community advisory board 🏳️‍⚧️

We are forming a community advisory board (CAB) to guide our advocacy on improving access to gender-affirming health care and other issues that impact Two Spirit, transgender, and gender diverse (2STGD) people in the NWT.

We’re looking for board members who are:
- a part of the 2STGD community
- NWT residents who are 19+
- able to attend monthly online meetings
- passionate about advocacy

We are currently accepting applications for up to 8 community advisory board members. Applications will remain open until August 31, 2026.

The last YK Summer of Pride event is Drag Brunch at the Elks this Sunday (August 30th). Doors will open at 10:30am and the show starts at 11am. This event is all ages and tickets are 5$ off with code NMN. Go to Bloom.ca or scan the QR code to get yours now!

Come out for Q***r Swim Night on August 27th at the Yellowknife Aquatic Centre!

Everyone is welcome, and we have a limited number of spots for free entry. If you would like to have your entry fee covered, please register in advance through the link below!

The pool will also be open to the public at this time, with public swim going from 6:30pm-8:30pm and lane swim going from 8:30pm-10pm.

NMN will be there from 7pm-9pm, but feel free to arrive early or stay late! If your entry is being covered, please arrive within the 7pm-9pm window.

Come along for a Q***r Hike on Tuesday, August 25th from 6:45pm-9pm! We will meet at 6:45pm at Somba K'e Park and head out on our hike at 7pm. This is an All-Ages event and we ask that youth 12 and under be accompanied by a caregiver. Remember to bring water, snacks, and comfortable footwear!

Hannah Ascough will by joining us to lead discussions about the connections between queerness and environmentalism.

This event is subject to weather, if it is raining or the air quality is above 6 it will be rescheduled.

We will walk the paved frame lake trail from the park to the hospital, and then we can either turn around and walk back on the paved path, or continue the loop over the rocks and through the forest. This will be decided day of depending on the needs of participants. If you would like to let us know about your accessibility needs prior to the event, send us a message!
