🏡 A Major Investment in Windsor-Essex Housing

Following today’s announcement of $190.6 million in funding for Windsor-Essex, Windsor Essex Chamber of Commerce President & CEO Ryan Donally highlights the importance of this investment in supporting housing affordability, regional growth, and economic competitiveness.

“Reducing the cost of new housing helps Windsor-Essex attract and retain the skilled talent our employers need, supports construction, skilled trades and the broader supply chain, and creates new opportunities for businesses across our regional economy.”

This partnership between all levels of government is an important step toward enabling new housing, strengthening infrastructure, and positioning our region to compete for the next generation of jobs and investment.

Today, the Windsor Essex Chamber of Commerce attended funding announcements supporting housing and infrastructure across our region.

We were pleased to hear $190.6 million in combined funding is coming to Windsor-Essex, including $84.8 million for Windsor and Tecumseh and $105.8 million for the County of Essex and its municipalities.

This funding will support essential infrastructure, including roads, stormwater management, and wastewater systems, helping unlock new housing development, with municipal commitments to reduce development charges also helping to lower the cost of building homes.

For our business community, housing and infrastructure are essential to attracting talent, supporting investment, and building a more competitive and strong regional economy.

🎉 Congratulations to Tourism Windsor Essex (TWEPI) on its success at the 2026 Ontario Tourism Awards of Excellence, with local content creator Nina Ngo winning the inaugural Tourism Influencer of the Year award, recognizing her role in showcasing our region.

TWEPI was also named a finalist in Arts & Culture, Workforce Innovation & Collaboration, and Tourism Marketing Partnership. This is a testament to the power of regional collaboration and the strength of our local tourism industry.

Adding to the excitement, Windsor-Essex will host the Ontario Tourism Summit at Caesars Windsor in October 2028! An incredible opportunity to showcase our region and welcome tourism leaders from across the province.

Two great days at the 2026 Best Defence Conference in London!

Windsor Essex Chamber of Commerce President & CEO Ryan Donally was proud to join defence industry leaders, government representatives, and innovators to explore opportunities to strengthen Canada’s defence sector and build new partnerships.

The conference also provided an opportunity to see our regional strengths on display, with Invest WindsorEssex showcasing Windsor-Essex’s capabilities at their booth, and CenterLine (Windsor) Limited sharing insights during the Technology Showcase.
