The 3D Fabrication Studio is an initiative centered on turning digital design skills into practical fabrication knowledge using CAD and 3D printing technologies. It combines education, hands-on learning, and real-world application to bridge the gap between design and manufacturing.

The project delivers structured learning experiences through a short virtual course, introducing participants to 3D modeling, product design thinking, and additive manufacturing workflows. Learners gain an understanding of how digital concepts evolve into physical prototypes and usable products.

Alongside training, a library of practical 3D models is being developed, including snap-fit assemblies, small structural builds, and everyday tools like cable clips and phone stands. These support both teaching and future service work.

Last week Friday, our Executive Director, Oluwatosin Akinbinu, had the privilege of being a guest speaker at this year’s African Youth Diaspora Conference 26’ 🌍✊🏾.

This was an amazing opportunity to inspire Black Youth from different schools within Ontario & the Detroit area, coming to the University of Windsor, and help them better understand this year’s theme, which was, “Failure does not equal the End, but the Beginning.”

Our Director did an amazing job, and we are so proud of her for the work she continues to do within the Windsor Essex community. 🙌🏾✨
