Youth Opportunities Strategy
The Youth Opportunities Strategy is a provincial initiative funded by the Ontario Ministry of Children and Youth Services. Our mission is to provide opportunities for youth, and help them realize their full potential to become active, productive members of our community. Youth Outreach Program
Our Youth Outreach Workers assist youth ages 12-21 overcome barriers by conn

ecting them with the resources already established in their communities. Issues like employment, completing volunteer hours, applying for assistance, housing, food and clothing are just a few examples. Onsite services available
- Emergency food cupboard
- Hygiene products
- Laundry services
- Business attire for interviews
- seasonal clothing
- Resume assistance
- Computers for jobs/apartment searching
*All services are FREE to youth ages 12-21

What a wonderful way to kick off the new school year! 🎒✨

We are extremely proud and grateful to have had the opportunity to welcome our community into our space for our Back-to-School Open House & BBQ. It was a pleasure to showcase our programs, connect with families, and celebrate the start of another school year together.💛🧡

We are especially proud to have supported 150 youth with backpacks and back-to-school supplies. We are incredibly thankful to everyone who helped make this possible. ❤️

A special thank you to AW4U The Real Estate Group and Justin Wilson for your generous monetary donations. Your support made a meaningful difference and helped us provide essential back-to-school supplies to youth in our community.

Another heartfelt thank you to lavishhairconcepts for your amazing contribution to the event by providing free haircuts to our youth. Your generosity helped make the day even more special! 💈✂️

We’re so grateful to have collaborated with the Can-Am Indian Friendship Centre this summer!

Through this partnership, four incredible youth joined our team as summer youth staff and played an important role in supporting and contributing to our programming. Their energy, ideas, and dedication helped make our summer programs even more meaningful for the youth and community we serve.

A huge thank you to the Can-Am Indian Friendship Centre for your partnership and support, and to the four youth who brought so much to our summer team.

McBride Youth United Joins New Beginnings IES

McBride Youth United is a community‑based youth leadership group focused on building employment readiness, teamwork, and neighbourhood engagement. Their programs help young people develop practical workplace skills, strengthen confidence, and contribute meaningfully to the communities they live in.

This summer, McBride Youth United hired six youth to run the CHC Summer Recreational Program at Reginald. Their dedication, creativity, and strong teamwork stood out across the entire summer program network.

Last week, this team earned the trophy for Best Performance at the end‑of‑summer BBQ at Mic Mac.

Congratulations to the youth team; and thank you to McBride Youth United for your partnership and continued commitment to empowering young leaders.
