National Indigenous Peoples Day (celebrated on June 21) is a dedicated day to recognize and celebrate the rich cultures, traditions, and contributions of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples in Canada. The date was chosen because of its spiritual significance as the summer solstice—the longest day of the year.

Everyone is welcome to Ambleside Park to celebrate National Indigenous Peoples Day on the traditional unceded territories of the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw (Squamish Nation), səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh Nation), and xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam Nation). This family-friendly event is suitable for all ages and will shine a light on languages, music and dance, cultures, and the immeasurable contributions of First Nations peoples.
