Have you ever wished there was a colleague, or an organization you could reach out to & ask about donor & solicitation history, concession/ merchandise purchases, e-mail engagement & open rates, marketing dos & don’ts?

Join us for a meet up with other Arts organizations for a moderated discussion on TOPIC: BEST PRACTICES in marketing, sales, social media, promotion and donor recruitment.

MODERATORS: Mirjana Galovich, Executive Director, WVCAC and Sharon Habib, artist.

TARGET GROUP: small and mid-size arts organizations.

WHERE: 1570 Argyle Ave

Over two hours, participants will explore the sectors’ best practices and opportunities, learn from each other, and deepen cross-sector partnerships. Our goal is to create a future where creativity drives community and belonging.

CALL FOR ARTISTS! Submissions are open to visual artists to submit work for our 2027 Exhibition Program at the Silk Purse Arts Centre!

Who Can Submit?

Submission is open to North Shore emerging & established artists working in any medium.

What We Are Looking For?

Art that reflects & examines our community & the vast world beyond; that presents new ideas & thought-provoking concepts; celebrates, deconstructs & recontextualizes traditional art forms & subjects; all while encouraging creativity & diversity.

Selection Process:
• Submissions will be adjudicated by a jury comprised of professional artists & curators to select works based on our mission & criteria.

• Selected artists will be scheduled for a 4 or 3 week group exhibition of 2-4 artists, as determined by the Jury, at the Silk Purse Arts Centre in 2027.

• All selected artists will be required to become WVCAC Members.

6 hi-res images of the body of work you wish to be considered, Artist Statement & Bio.

3. Pay the $35 Submission Fee.

We’re hiring for a Volunteer and Events Coordinator. If you’re self motivated, organized, love engaging with people & want to be part of an organization that enriches the community then consider applying. Info in bio link & at https://westvanartscouncil.ca/Career-Opportunities

This position is ideal for someone who loves engaging with people, believes in lifelong growth and feels called to support others through meaningful connection.

The Volunteer and Events Coordinator will oversee all aspects of the volunteer program, from recruitment to training and scheduling.

They will also assist with the delivery of arts events including attendee registration, set up/take down, hosting and revenue reporting. The position involves customer relations such as processing sales, answering the phone and welcoming visitors/event attendees.

Remuneration:
$21 per hour; 20 hours per week
