Recovery Kidz is beyond grateful to have received a $25,000 grant from Hockey Helps the Homeless!

Hockey Helps the Homeless is an amazing organization that brings communities together through hockey to raise money and awareness for people experiencing homelessness. Their mission is to help individuals access housing, support services, and the resources they need to rebuild their lives.

This generous grant will help us continue supporting children whose parents are in treatment by providing comfort, stability, and hope during one of the hardest times in their young lives.

To everyone at Hockey Helps the Homeless, and big shout outs to Linda Devlin - thank you for believing in our mission and investing in the families we serve. Your generosity will make a lasting difference for so many children across our communities. 💙

Alexis Root Britt Kerr and the Recovery Kidz team was honoured to participate in the Recovery Night with Vancouver Canucks. Hockey Helps the Homeless was there - we wore our jersey loud and proud. We worked with 17 centers this year and growing. The lie is dead. We do recover. The photo of my kids and mom and partner is proof that we get the lives we always imagined.

At Recovery Kidz, we believe no family should have to walk through the hardest seasons alone.

Our mission is to support children and teens impacted by substance use disorder—because behind every parent in recovery is a child who deserves to feel safe, seen, and loved. 💛

Founded in 2013, Recovery Kidz Society is a registered children’s charity, and in 2025 our holiday campaign will support over 1,400 children through the power of community. By partnering with 17 treatment centres, we provide holiday gifts to parents in recovery so that no child goes without—and parents feel supported to stay in treatment and give the greatest gift of all: sobriety.

This work is only possible because of people coming together—donors, partners, volunteers, and supporters who believe in compassion over judgment and community over isolation. When we rally together, we remind families that hope is real, recovery is possible, and they are not forgotten.

Thank you for standing with us, for showing up, and for helping us create moments of joy and dignity for children who need it most. Together, we are changing lives—one family at a time.

Huge thank you to Simply Computing for their incredibly generous donation of a pre-owned MacBook Pro to Recovery Kidz Society, along with providing discounted Apple accessories. Because of this support, one of the kids we serve will now be able to use this computer and accessories to create and explore their digital art — something that means the world to them.

Support like this makes a real difference and helps us continue the work we do every day for families in recovery.
