Tonight is our last night of our 4 week meet and greets for youth in View Royal to come and check out our re-opening of the Beaver colony for youth ages 5-8 for September. Scouting is a place for your little outdoor adventurers to learn lifelong skills in friendship, community, leadership and of course build those outdoor skills! We have an enthusiastic and amazing group of volunteers and youth where youth can grow in succession with their age group.
Come check us out tonight to see if we are a good fit for your family, as we hike through the Royal Roads forests, play games and have an amazing night. We are meeting at the Blue Heron House down by the water at 6PM and hope to see you there! DM for any questions or just come. Everyone is welcome! See you tonight!

Join us for our 3rd out of 4 Beaver Colony Meet & Greets as we continue working toward relaunching the 3rd Arbutus Beaver Colony in View Royal for youth ages 5–8!

🌲🐾 3rd Arbutus Beaver Scouts – Week 2 Meet & Greet Adventure! 🐾🌲

We’re excited to welcome families back for another week of Beaver adventures for youth ages 5–8! We are co-ed, so this program is for all gender youth!

Come join us for Week 2 of our Beaver Meet & Greets and discover what Scouting is all about — outdoor fun, games, new friendships, and adventure! Whether your child is curious about Beavers or you’re looking for a great family activity, we’d love to meet you.

We won’t be swimming, but we WILL be learning some fun outdoor skills, playing games, and enjoying time together!

Tonight is the night for our Beaver colony start up meet and greet for parents and youth ages 5-8! Let us know that you are attending so we can prepare the supplies needed. DM for any questions!
Looking forward to seeing you tonight at 6pm at the View Royal bike park playground, you wont miss us in our red shirts and Scouting neckers!

We’re excited to host our first come-and-see Beavers gathering on Wednesday, May 6 at 6:00 pm! We’ll meet at the View Royal bike park playground at 1344 Pheasant Lane, let the kids burn a little energy (always a good strategy), then wander over to the View Royal Elementary School around 6:30 to link up with the Cubs and get a feel for the wider Scouting sections.
Our hope is you’ve had a chance to register yourself as a volunteer through myscouts.ca with 3rd Arbutus Beavers, but if life has been life-ing and you haven’t gotten to it yet, please still come. This is a low-pressure chance to meet, ask questions, and see if Scouting feels like a fit for your family.
We’re building the Beaver section as a family-centred, parent-involved Beaver colony, so this first evening is as much for grownups as for the youth. Come curious, come chat, come let your child explore. If your little one likes sticks, puddles, bugs, games, or organized chaos with good intentions, we may be your people. :)
We’re really looking forward to getting this started and would love to meet you. Feel free to reach out with questions, and if you’re coming, a quick note back is always helpful so we know who to watch for at the playground.

Know a young adventurer who loves to explore, learn new skills, and make friends? Bring them out to Cubs Bring-a-Friend Night and let them experience the excitement of Scouting firsthand!

Our Cub Pack has had an incredible year so far since September and we want to share in the fun with our friends — from sparking up confidence at a fire-lighting event in Goldstream Park, to spending a whole weekend camping at Camp Barnard, to learning basic first aid skills and even building their own first aid kits. And that’s just the beginning… there is so much more fun ahead!

🎉 Boys and girls are welcome!
Come join us, make new friends, and discover what Scouting is all about. 🌲🔥

Hello Scouting Families,

Our AGM will be held from 6:30pm-8:30pm on Wednesday, Sept 10th at Helmcken Park (near the tennis court).Families are invited and encouraged to attend. Youth are welcome and will have access to the playground and other park facilities nearby.

Hamburgers and hot dogs will be provided at no charge. We do ask that you please bring lawn chairs as we will be gathering on the grass.

For those new to scouting, our AGMs provide an opportunity for families to meet the volunteers as well as other scouting families. It is also our forum to discuss the year ahead and to nominate volunteers to serve on the group committee. As with all scouting groups, 3rd Arbutus relies on volunteers to fill administrative and section level leadership roles in order to provide this important program for our youth. If you are interested in helping with any of the roles in the group committee, or you are interested in learning more about becoming a Scouter, please attend this meeting to learn more.

The Venturers made the long trek to Kelowna this weekend to participate in the JOTA event in the Okanagan. An amazing linking event for the Offers of Service to help with the program. All of the OOS got to have their try with the pelletry stations using black powder rifles. What great adventures these youth have along with many cherished memories. A BIG thanks to the volunteers for taking the time out of their own schedules to make this happen for the youth.

We had a great at the Joe Rich Sportsman's Association shooting range. A huge thank you to everyone that attended and helped us out over the weekend. There will definitely be more photos to come.
