It's that time again,

Halloween at Rainbow Kitchen is looking deliciously spooky!! For six years now our amazing volunteers bake a specials dessert for our Guests. This year, Susan and Rachel have been hard at work baking and decorating these incredible cupcakes! Thank you both for your dedication to this annual tradition!! We hope to see you tomorrow for Halloween!

We are so lucky to have friends like Jeeta and Chef Pam!!

If you haven't had a chance to try Chef Pam and her teams cooking, please keep an eye on our sidewalk sandwich board and if you see her name on there, STOP ON IN! We look forward to her cooking, every time she joins us. Absolutely Delicious!

Today’s lunch was generously funded by Jeeta Kaur and featured a complete Indian feast! Master Chef Pam, with helpers Jeeta, Jamie, and Lindsay brought it all together in-time to serve our deserving community today.

There are no leftovers from a Chef Pam meal, our Guests, Volunteers and Staff don't leave even a single bite behind. Thank you Pam, thank you Jeeta!!! We are so lucky to have friends supporting such amazing meals for our community. And a big thank you to Lindsay and Jamie as it takes a great team to make the magic happen.

Rainbow Kitchen is looking for a few extra hands to help out in one of our most supportive spots! Consistency is key this time of year, we are looking for some folks with regular availability ASAP.

Monday Pre-Wash Volunteer

Friday Dishwasher Volunteer
10:30 AM – 1:30 PM

We're looking for reliable friends who:

~Can consistently commit to the same shift each week.

~Are comfortable lifting up to 50 lbs. regularly.

~Bring a positive attitude and a passion for helping their community.

516 meals served today! Wowzers!!!

Thank you friends!

From all of us at the Rainbow Kitchen we want thank our incredible community for helping us keep cooking this year. We made and served an astounding 516 meals today!!!

It takes a week of prep work to make today happen but we did it, and it was wonderful. Thank you to all our amazing volunteers who helped in the many, many ways they do to make our hot meals happen today.

516 meals!!

Wishing you a lovely long weekend ahead and we will be back to regular services on Tuesday October 13th (closed Monday the 12th)

We’re looking for a few more wonderful humans to join our Rainbow Kitchen volunteer team 💛

Right now, we especially need dishwashers and pot scrubbers — truly some of the most important people in our kitchen. These roles keep everything moving and make it possible for us to serve our community every day.

Our volunteers help Monday to Friday between 7:00 am and 1:30 pm, with different shift lengths available. Most people volunteer one regular shift each week, and we’re always grateful for extra hands who can help cover vacations and absences too.

We also have a couple of other volunteer opportunities available right now.

We’re looking for a little help from our community.

Rainbow Kitchen is hoping to find a few freestanding plexiglass or acrylic dividers, approximately 3 ft wide by 4 ft high, to help protect a display this holiday season.

If you have something similar tucked away in storage, know a business that may have some available, or have another solution that could work, we would love to hear from you.

🌈 Family Community Dinner at Rainbow Kitchen! 🌈

We’re excited to invite you and your loved ones to a free Community Dinner on Wednesday, August 26th from 5 to 7 PM at Rainbow Kitchen. We will be lucky enough to be assisted by our friends at VicPDcanada and can’t wait to have them help serve our community ❤️

Come into our space, meet the team, and see a little of what we do every day. Rainbow Kitchen is a place for everyone because everyone needs good food, and there are no barriers to joining us.

Bring your family, bring your friends, and enjoy a meal together with neighbours from all walks of life. We can’t wait to share food, conversation, and community with you. 💛

We’re thrilled to share that our friends at Kid Sister Ice Cream have made their support of Rainbow Kitchen a year round partnership, and we couldn’t be more grateful! 🍦🌈

Kid Sister is a locally owned ice cream shop on Esquimalt Road, known for its creative seasonal flavours, delicious small batch ice cream and the cutest little ice cream truck you may have spotted at events around town. It has also become a serious favourite among the Rainbow Kitchen staff and volunteers!

Throughout the year, Kid Sister will feature special seasonal swirl flavours, with $2.50 from every pint sold donated to Rainbow Kitchen’s School Program.

If you haven’t checked them out yet, this is the perfect reason to stop by, try something delicious and support local children and families at the same time.
