Another day, another amazing volunteer team in the kitchen! ❤️

Recently, Chef Fil and Kim cooked up a delicious meal together at Rainbow Kitchen, bringing not only their culinary skills but also their wonderful partnership into our kitchen.

We are so grateful for volunteers who share their time, talents, and even involve their families in giving back to the community. Fil and Kim are proof that volunteering can be a family affair and that yes, you really can work alongside your spouse in the kitchen and still leave smiling! 😊

Thank you both for helping create nutritious meals and a welcoming space for our community. We couldn’t do what we do without volunteers like you.

A huge thank you to the amazing neighbours who took it upon themselves to organize a garden party to help tackle the spear grass in our community garden! 🌱💚

Not only did you lend a hand to our volunteer garden team, but you also helped create a more beautiful and welcoming space for everyone in our neighbourhood to enjoy.

Seeing community members come together, take initiative, and care so deeply about shared spaces is incredibly inspiring. We are so proud and grateful to be part of a community that shows up for one another in such meaningful ways.

It started as a conversation joking about trying to match shirt colours one day… and somehow turned into Green Shirt Wednesday 💚

This was our first time doing it and while it may not become an official tradition, it brought so many smiles and laughs to the team throughout the day. In the middle of busy days, little moments like this remind us how lucky we are to work alongside such a caring and fun group of people.

We’re inviting all our neighbours to a special Community Dinner as a heartfelt thank you for your continued support, kindness, and connection.

Join us on June 24th from 5–7pm for a summer BBQ hosted with the help of the Esquimalt Fire Department.

Come by, bring your families and loved ones, and enjoy an evening together in the community of Esquimalt.

You’re welcome to:
• Stay and eat with friends and neighbours
• Or grab a meal to go if you’re on the move

⭐️🌟⭐️Thank you !!!!⭐️🌟⭐️

For 26 years Rainbow Kitchen has been serving our neighbours and helping build a stronger, more satiated community. Celebrating our 16th year as a non-profit in April, it has taken an entire village of incredible people to get to where we stand today. Serving over 250,000 meals a year!

No questions asked, no fees, no religious affiliation, no barriers to accessing a warm meal in a safe and welcoming space. Over 200 volunteers help our small staff of 5 today, and it takes everyone now and everyone who has served lunch, chopped veggies, sorted produce, helped cook, clean, and lead this organization as one of our board members to make this magic happen. We are first a little community inside ourselves and the best part about Rainbow Kitchen is that all are welcome.

It is transformational to be acknowledged with this award, shining a special spotlight on the decades long work we’ve done and helping rejuvenate our team for the days ahead. Thank you to the amazing we are truly lucky to part of such a supportive collation of community leaders. A huge thank-you to the for sponsoring this impactful acknowledgment, and most important is how we know we couldn’t do this alone, our fellow nominees at are equally as deserving of recognition and appreciation for the tireless work they do for so many and how great a partner they have been to us over the years. We celebrate this with them and all the hard working non-profits that help make this city the warm and welcoming place it is today.

Today we want to recognize one of our incredible volunteers, Paula 🎉

Paula is celebrating 16 years with us. From the very beginning, she has brought such a warm and welcoming presence to the space. She is always ready with a smile that brightens the room and never hesitates to jump in and help wherever she is needed.

Her kindness, steady dedication, and positive energy have made a lasting impact on our community over the years. We are truly grateful for all she has given and continues to give.
