It was wonderful to reconnect with so many businesses and community partners who chose to stand alongside Island families over the past year.
Each organization showed how community support can make a meaningful difference for families.

As Lindsey from Coastal Heat Pumps shared: “You don’t need to have a grand plan. You just need to notice who’s already doing the work and ask how you can stand alongside them.”

That spirit of community and partnership is exactly what helps families feel supported during some of the most difficult moments of their lives.

Thank you to everyone who showed up for Island kids and families. Your support is helping create comfort, stability, and a sense of community when it matters most.

🍪💜Thousands of cookies to make a big difference! Thanks to the support of our Greater Victoria community, this year’s Smile Cookie Week raised over $75,000 for Jeneece Place!

Those cookies did more than sweeten the week. They will bring comfort and a welcoming place to stay for hundreds of Island families who travel so their child can receive care.

Instead of worrying about where to stay, they’ll have a Home Away From Home just steps from the hospital.

Thank you Tim Hortons, store owners, staff, and volunteers! And thank you to everyone who bought a cookie and chose to give back.

As a physiotherapist, Erin supports children with complex health needs.

And as a mom, she has lived that journey herself. Erin's son, Cohen, was born with Down syndrome. As a child, he accessed specialized equipment through the loan library at Queen Alexandra Centre, where Erin works. That equipment helped Cohen learn to ride a bike, build confidence, independence, and just be a kid.

Through her work, Erin sees how our programs help fill important gaps for families.

"An adaptive trike isn't something the government will fund, but riding a bike is such a fundamental part of being a kid. It's these gaps that the Foundation steps in to fill."

Read Erin and Cohen's story. Link in bio.

💜 Thank you for another successful TELUS Days of Giving at Jeneece Place!

This year's team helped prepare meals and make this Home a warm and welcoming space for families.

TELUS has long believed in giving where they live. These acts of kindness make all the difference for families navigating complex health journeys with their children.

Last month, we welcomed community members, donors, and supporters for a Q̓ʷalayu House tour.

It was wonderful to connect in person, share stories and show how their gift makes a real impact. They saw firsthand how their support is helping Island families stay close to care when far from home.

Every moment of comfort at our Homes Away From Home is only possible because of a generous community that stands for kids and families.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and continues to support our work. Your generosity is making a difference every single day.

A big thank you to Harbourview Volkswagen for supporting Jesse’s House.

Their team turned a fun staff tradition into meaningful support for Island families. It’s wonderful seeing people make an impact right in their own community.

This gift will help create a warm, welcoming place for families travelling to Nanaimo for their child’s health care.

Anything fun you do can be a way to bring people together to raise money for Island families.

Since opening in 2021, Q̓ʷalayu House has become part of many families' birth stories — including June’s*.

June lives in Gold River, where getting to the nearest hospital can take hours of travel and careful planning. Over two pregnancies, Q̓ʷalayu House became her family's home base, where they could stay close to the hospital while waiting to welcome their children.

When complications led to an emergency C-section during one of her stays, having the home so close by made all the difference.

“Being right next to the hospital relieved so much stress. It was a gift of relief,” June shares.

Stories like June’s remind us why our Homes Away From Home matter so deeply to Island families, providing comfort, stability, and support.
