Founded in 1990, Habitat Victoria is one of 56 affiliates in Canada building more than 250 homes a year, offering a “hand-up” to families across the country. Habitat for Humanity is a community-based, registered charity working towards a world where everyone has a safe and decent place to live.

We need YOUR help at Habitat Victoria’s 18th Annual Gingerbread Showcase, presented by Peninsula Co-op!

Volunteer ambassadors are needed to welcome guests, encourage votes and donations, and spread holiday cheer at this beloved Victoria tradition hosted at Hotel Grand Pacific.

The Showcase runs daily from 9 AM to 9 PM, November 20, 2026, to January 3, 2027. Shifts are three hours long, with 2–3 ambassadors per shift.

In just 2 days, I’ll be running my 5th Royal Victoria Marathon, this time for Habitat for Humanity Victoria.

After 25 years as a homeowner myself, giving back through affordable homeownership feels especially meaningful. Even more so because Habitat is building for the first time in Langford, the community I’ve called home for 21 years.

In 2013, my dad ran the final 14 km of the Victoria Marathon beside me after my back gave out at km 28. We crossed the finish line hand in hand.

This year, I get to play his role.
