Representing the Philippine Chamber of Commerce Toronto (PCCT), Board Director Lilac Cana and member Efren Antimano attended the TFO Canada / Global Affairs Canada Industry Roundtable this morning.

The session marked the launch of a new 5-year initiative funded by Global Affairs Canada aimed at understanding and addressing the barriers, challenges, and risks associated with food importing and international sourcing, with a particular focus on products sourced from Asian countries.

The roundtable provided valuable insights into the evolving import landscape, fostered meaningful discussions among industry stakeholders, and created opportunities to build new connections and partnerships. Initiatives like this play an important role in supporting businesses, strengthening international trade, and promoting a more resilient and informed supply chain.

Thank you to TFO Canada and Global Affairs Canada for bringing together industry leaders and organizations for this important conversation.

Today, we lost a truly remarkable man and a genuine community leader.

Rafael “Paeng” Nebres was more than a devoted father, respected businessman, and past President of the Philippine Chamber of Commerce Toronto (PCCT) — he was one of the pillars who helped build the foundation of the Filipino-Canadian business community that so many of us continue to benefit from today.

Thank you for your kindness, leadership, and love for the community.

Rest peacefully in paradise, Manoy Paeng. Your legacy will live on in all of us. 🙏
