We had another wonderful morning at the Hubbards Farmers' Market last Saturday!

We talked to lots of folks, shared information about our programs and services, sold some sewn items made by our Bay Seniors Sewing Team in support of those programs, and sold donated jewellery in support of the St. Margaret's Bay Food Bank.

And just as we were sorting through our bling to get ready for three upcoming sales in September--and wondering if we had enough for three sales so close together--we received some very welcome donated jewellery, including the amazing Heidi Daus set shown here.

Looking for local produce at excellent prices? Place your order with the Square Roots program by tomorrow (Tuesday, August 18) at noon. Shown here, an email from the program to current and past buyers, noting the need for more customers to allow the program to continue in St. Margaret's Bay.

Come see us at the August 15 Hubbards Farmers' Market, 8am-noon!

We're selling donated, mostly-vintage jewellery. Check out pierced and clip-on earrings, bracelets, necklaces, brooches, lapel pins, and rings. We have some sterling silver, a few items in 10k or 14k gold, and a wide variety of styles, from elegant classics to quirky one-of-a-kind. Everything is priced at half market value or less, as best we can determined.

We're excited about being at the Hubbards Farmers' Market this Saturday, August 15, 8am to noon!

We're offering some fabulous donated jewellery (at great prices, please note) in support of the St. Margaret's Bay Food Bank. And, for the first time, we'll also have sewn items, including tote bags, w**e bags, cell phone and eyeglasses cases, aprons for adults and kids, and more! Our sewn items are made from donated fabric sewn up by Bay Seniors volunteers, with proceeds to Bay Seniors programs and services for seniors in our area.

We're at the market thanks to the Hubbards Barn Association and its generous support of other local nonprofit groups. We hope to see you there!

Plant a free tree from HRM. See details in the post!

The municipality is giving away free trees to residents on Aug. 22 and 29, from 9 a.m. to noon at 3800 Mackintosh Street in Halifax, rain or shine.

The online registration form opens at noon on Aug. 13 and you must register in advance to claim your tree. A QR code will be emailed once you sign up.

You’ll find a mix of native and fruit-bearing trees, including red maple, red oak, serviceberry and edible varieties like apple and peach. One tree per household, while supplies last.

There's a table full of jewellery and a couple of Bay Seniors volunteers in there somewhere...

Our Bay Seniors Saturday Sparkle donated-jewellery fundraiser brought in another $600+ today for the St. Margaret's Bay Food Bank!

We had a fantastic time at this morning's Pride Market at the Hubbards Farmers' Market, soaking in the joyful atmosphere and chatting with lots of jewellery-loving folks. Thanks to the Hubbards Barn Association and St. Margaret's Bay Pride for creating such an extra-special event.

And, as always, big, BIG thanks to our generous jewellery donors and to our buyers, for making this program possible!
