The Tyendinaga Township Fire Department advises that as of Sept. 8, 2025, the current fire status has been changed to Campfires Only, between the hours of 7:00 PM and 7:00 AM.

Please be reminded that Hastings County remains in a Level 3 Drought condition. Due to these conditions, there are areas within the Township where the Fire Department must travel extended distances to access water supplies for firefighting operations.

To ensure the safety of our community, residents are required to observe the following:

Campfires must be no larger than 60 cm x 60 cm (24” x 24”) in size.

Adequate water must be kept on hand to safely extinguish any fire.

All fires must be fully extinguished before being left unattended.

A competent adult must be in attendance at the fire at all times.

The burning of garbage, plastics, or other prohibited materials is strictly forbidden under the Open Air Burning Bylaw.

Residents found burning prohibited materials will receive a fine and may be held financially responsible for any Fire Department services provided as a result.
