Public Health: Handwashing - To reduce Bird Flu infection risk.
Bird flu (avian influenza) is a contagious viral infection that primarily affects birds but can sometimes infect humans. Preventing the spread of this virus is crucial, especially handling dead or sick birds, working with poultry or in areas where bird flu outbreaks occur. Handwashing is one of the most effective ways to reduce the risk of transmission.

Healthy Environment: June marks National Pollinator Month🐝🦋🐛🐞, a time to celebrate and support the bees, butterflies, moths, and other pollinators that keep ecosystems and food systems thriving. Many of these species are in decline, and they need help. Let's support community-led projects such as:
🐝 Create a new pollinator garden or rain garden.
🦋 Expand or enhance an existing garden by adding native pollinator-friendly plants.
🐞 Convert a lawn, boulevard or hard surface to a pollinator garden. Reference via

: Found this Public Health information pamphlet on Rabies prevention from Agriculture Canada used by health departments in 1980s. Health Inspectors used to provide such pamphlets to the public during health promotion projects or health fairs. This pamphlet also has a photo of the Chief Veterinarian processing an animal specimen for Rabies testing. (Health Inspector Jim)
