In this video, we have a few examples of what can go into the sensory care kits.

Kits can be as expensive or simplified as needed, based on the use.

Consider donating (link in our bio) to help us create and distribute these care kits to schools and hospitals!

People often ask me “Why?”

Why do I want to start a nonprofit? What am I trying to do? What are my goals with this vision?

Well, here it is.
Raw, unfiltered, and truthful.
I want to create a world that has more inclusive spaces for kids on the autism spectrum. Kids who struggles with communication or sensory needs.

By creating and distributing resources to schools, parks, and hospitals, we are creating inclusion. We are showing these kids that their voice matters and that we see them.

This could have started with my son, and my seeing how inaccessible the world can be to someone with special needs, but it’s grown into wanting to create equity.

Just a quick introduction!

In 2021, Dylan and I organized the Etobicoke Walk-on-Wheels event for Autism Speaks. This experience got me thinking, why couldn’t I do this for our own mission! So here I am, starting a nonprofit and looking to build our own community!

Throwback to 2019 — Dylan was only 3, and we took our very first steps together for Autism Speaks Canada. 👣

Our family and friends showed up in full force, turning the day into a celebration of love, hope, and community. We raised over $3,500 and met so many beautiful families walking the same journey. Truly, love in motion.

Our Mission:

At Dylan's Roar, our mission is to create and provide accessible, evidence-based resources that empower schools, parks, and hospitals to support individuals with autism. By fostering inclusion and understanding, we aim to enhance the lives of individuals on the autism spectrum and build more supportive communities for all.

Our Vision:

Inclusion and understanding are at the heart of what we do. Our resources are designed to empower communities to foster supportive environments where everyone can thrive.

Dylan struggled with communication and sensory issues and when I tried to find resources to help him get through his everyday, I realized, the world is not very autism friendly. Especially for kids on the spectrum who can't communicate and have sensory troubles.

Every child deserves to feel included, understood, and supported. At Dylan's Roar, we’re on a mission to make this a reality for individuals with autism.

Our Goal:

We aim to raise $3,500 overall to create sensory-friendly, evidence-based resources that empower schools, parks, and hospitals to better support individuals with autism and their families. But we're starting with a more manageable goal for now!

How Your Support Helps:

Your contributions will allow us to create and distribute the following:

1) Sensory Care Kits: Sensory Care Kits aid by helping to soothe and calm an individual who might be in sensory overload. These kits include something to aid with the senses - sight, sound, feel, touch, taste. Kits will include fidget toys, weighted items such as a weighted plushy, noise cancelling headphones, sunglasses, and something to chew.

2) Sensory Paths: Sensory Paths are spaces for children to follow a series of movements that help them process information, reduce sensory-seeking behaviors, and develop motor skills. Our goal is to introduce these in schools so that students who need movement breaks have an opportunity to get their energy out. Our goal is to introduce these paths to schools.

3) Community Communication Boards: Community Communication Boards help people communicate with each other. Communication boards are a form of Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) that can help people express themselves non-verbally. Many kids on the spectrum, who are non-verbal, might still be able to communicate using these visuals. Our goal is to create these boards and have them installed in parks and schools across the city.

What Makes Us Different?

We focus on practical, impactful solutions— spaces that accommodate diverse needs, and strategies that build empathy and awareness.

Join us in creating a more inclusive world. Together, we can ensure every individual with autism feels valued and supported.
