This Mother’s Day, we’re raising $15,000 to ensure parents like Caroline have access to the food and care they need.

Caroline is a participant in Healthy Beginnings, The Stop’s perinatal program, which supports new and expectant parents who may be navigating challenges such as housing instability, mental health concerns, marginalization, single parenting, recent immigration, or language barriers

Participants take part in educational workshops, share healthy meals, connect with other families, and receive nutritious food hampers and transportation support.

Thank you, Milestone Environmental Contracting Inc., for 10 incredible years of the Milestone Cup in support of The Stop Community Food Centre.

This year’s tournament at the Cwench Centre in Etobicoke brought together 56 players, fierce competition, and an even stronger sense of community, all helping raise $10,000 to support our neighbours with access to free, healthy food in Toronto.

What began as a local hockey event has grown into a meaningful annual tradition rooted in generosity and collective action. We’re deeply grateful to all the players, organizers, sponsors, and supporters who have made this milestone possible year after year. Your impact continues to be felt far beyond the rink.

We’re a small part of a much bigger system, doing our best to increase access to healthy, dignified food in our city.

We’ve been serving our local communities in Toronto for over 40 years and we will keep advocating for food systems where good food is recognized as a human right.

To support our non-profit today, you can make a donation by visiting thestop.org/donate

From 12–2 p.m. every Tuesday, The Stop’s food bank space at 1884 Davenport Rd. shifts into the Good Food Market, offering a wide range of affordable fresh produce, baked goods, bread, pastries, and prepared foods.

With vegetarian and gluten-free options available, the market creates more consistent access to healthy, affordable food while supporting local producers.

For over 40 years, The Stop Community Food Centre has worked to increase access to healthy food in Toronto through food access programs, community initiatives, and advocacy, rooted in the belief that good food is a human right.

Last night we celebrated the incredible people who are the heart of everything we do, our 180+ volunteers!đŸ”„

As a community-based organization, our volunteers are the reason we can show up for our community members every day, sustain our programs, and work towards food security across Toronto. We simply couldn’t do it without you all.

And what a night it was! From the Untalent Show (which was full of actual talent), to awesome raffle prizes, delicious food, laughter, photos, and memories
this community is made up of people whose compassion, dedication, and spirit make our city a better place and we couldn’t be more grateful.

This year’s theme is Ignite Volunteerism, and every one of you is proof of what that looks like in action.

To everyone who came out: thank you for the joy you brought to the room. To those who couldn’t make it: we love you just as much, and we felt your energy there with us.

Keep on rocking!!

With so much gratitude, The Stop 💚

Our work goes beyond food access at The Stop.

Alongside our meals and food programs, we offer drop-in activities that create space for connection, creativity, and rest. These include:

‱ Bingo
‱ Creative writing
‱ Art-making
‱ Stitchin’ by the Kitchen
‱ Movie viewings
‱ Karaoke

Here, people can connect with each other, try something new, or simply take a break in a welcoming space.

These programs play a key role in our work by helping reduce social isolation and building stronger connections within our community.
