Did you know that 72% of femicides occur in a private location, such as the victim’s own home or the home they shared with the accused?

Home is still the most dangerous place to be for many women and girls, with intimate partners and family members being the most common perpetrators.

If you or someone you know is in an unsafe situation, you are not alone. Talk to someone you trust, reach out for support, and know that help is available.

If you or someone you know is a victim of intimate partner violence, reach out to our 24/7 crisis team at 416-808-7066 for immediate support. Our phone lines are open 24/7.

Financial stability is key to a human trafficking survivor’s ability to rebuild their life, but for many, the weight of fraudulent debt stands in the way of recovery.

Reclaim supports human trafficking survivors across Canada by advocating directly with creditors and helping remove fraudulent or coercive debt from their names and records.

To date, Reclaim has successfully resolved 95% of coerced debt cases, with over $2 million in fraudulent debt cleared since its launch.

On May 15, the Supreme Court of Canada made a landmark decision to recognize a new tort of intimate partner violence, acknowledging that existing torts do not fully address the harm of coercive control.

This is an important development in how intimate partner violence is understood within Canadian law, and may pave the way for survivors to pursue civil action for financial control, coercion, isolation, intimidation, and more.

We are encouraged by what this may mean for survivors, and we hope this marks a continued shift toward expanding access to justice for survivors of intimate partner violence in Canada.

If you or someone you know has experienced intimate partner violence, you are not alone. Call 416-808-7066 to speak with one of our crisis counsellors or share this number with anyone who may need support. Our phone lines are open 24/7.

Last year, your support helped us raise over $525,000 to support young victims after court.

Now, we’re building on that momentum to help them SOAR.

In partnership with Victim Services Toronto, SOAR is raising funds to support the launch of Post-Court Pathways, a first-of-its-kind specialized therapy program for young victims after court.
