Full Tummy Farm The Orphanage

There is an orphanage in Cambodia so poor that they have no electricity or running water. No playground. No showers.

No beds or bedding so the children sleep on mats on the dirty floor. there are no mosquito nets to protect them from malaria. There is no electricity, so no fans. In the summer, their classrooms are outside, and consisting of a chalkboard nailed to a tree. They have 2 squat toilets for almost 200 people, which they flush with scoops of water. The orphanage receives little to no local funding, and

is not currently supported by any NGO (non-government organization). The orphanage & school are almost completely funded by donations from tourists & overseas benefactors. Their 3 daily meals of plain white rice are cooked & eaten in the beating sun. They have soup with dinner, which is just broth with tiny bits of vegetables. They might have fish 2 or 3 times a week when caught or donated. Most of the orphans have never tasted meat. In addition to the 67 or so orphans in full-time residence, there are another 100-150 children who come to the school for a simple education & to receive possibly their only meals. Sadly, the dire situation at this orphanage is not unique. We are raising $8000 to $10,000 to build them a better school & home.
