Every day, after the final school bell rings, our students hurry to the Soniashnyk After School Program at UNF Toronto Branch. Like all children, they arrive tired after a full day of classes, assignments, tests, and learning. Yet, despite their busy schedules and long days, they chose to stay, rehearse, practice, and give their time and energy to something greater than themselves.
For weeks, they worked diligently, pouring their hearts into every word, every movement, and every note. Their dedication reminds us that true character is revealed not when things are easy, but when we continue to give our best even when we are tired.
Today, these talented, creative, and compassionate young people participated in the charity marathon Children of Canada for Children of Ukraine with their performance “When Children Speak, the Heart Prays.”
The audience heard a prayer for Ukraine and the song “With Children’s Hands We Will Protect Ukraine.” But what happened on stage was more than a performance. It was the voice of a generation that carries Ukraine in its heart. It was a reminder that even thousands of miles from their ancestral homeland, these children continue to preserve their language, culture, faith, and love for Ukraine.
Today, they showed us that hope has a voice. It sounds like children praying for peace. It sounds like children singing for those who need strength. It sounds like young hearts believing in a better future.
Because when children speak, we listen.
And when children pray, hearts unite.
Кожного дня, наші дітки поспішають до після шкільної програми «Соняшник» при UNF Toronto Branch. Як і всі діти, вони приходять сюди втомленими після уроків, домашніх завдань, контрольних робіт та насиченого навчального дня. Але, попри втому та щільний графік, вони залишалися після занять, готувалися та вкладали свої сили у справу, яка є більшою за кожного з нас.
Протягом кількох тижнів діти старанно працювали, вкладаючи частинку свого серця в кожне слово, кожен рух і кожну ноту. Їхня відданість нагадує нам: справжній характер проявляється не тоді, коли легко, а тоді, коли, незважаючи на втому, ми продовжуємо віддавати найкраще.
Сьогодні ці талановиті, творчі та небайдужі діти взяли участь у благодійному марафоні «Діти Канади — дітям України» з номером «Коли діти говорять — серце молиться».
Зі сцени прозвучала молитва за Україну та пісня «Дитячими долонями закриєм Україну». Але те, що відбулося сьогодні на сцені, було значно більшим, ніж просто виступ. Це був голос покоління, яке несе Україну у своєму серці. Це було нагадування про те, що навіть за тисячі кілометрів від рідної землі наші діти зберігають українську мову, культуру, віру та любов до своєї Батьківщини.
Сьогодні вони показали нам, що надія має свій голос. Вона звучить у дитячій молитві за мир. Вона звучить у дитячій пісні на підтримку тих, хто потребує сили. Вона звучить у юних серцях, які вірять у краще майбутнє.
Бо коли говорять діти — ми слухаємо.
А коли моляться діти — єднаються серця.
