Candidates will participate in in-person interviews, with opportunities for on-the-spot hiring.

Orton Park is truly at the heart of the BGC East Scarborough community! ❤️

Our Community BBQ & Fish Fry was filled with good food, great people, and an incredible sense of community. From chicken, beef, burgers and fish to so much more, our amazing volunteers were out cooking, serving, and making sure our families felt welcomed and cared for.

We’re so grateful for the many community partners who came out to support and celebrate with us, and for everyone who helped make this event such a success. What an amazing turnout! 🙌🏾

We’re looking for amazing volunteers, barbers, and hair braiders to join us and make this event extra special. 💙

From helping with activities to providing fresh cuts and braiding services for our youth, your time and talents can make a meaningful impact.

Back 2 Books is coming up and its time for you to register for your free backpack and school supplies to get ready for the new year!

For all Club Members, this event offers food, aircuts and Braid Ups* (First-come, First-served basis), Kids Zone, Music and Entertainment, School Supplies and more.

🗓️: August 20, 2026

⏰: 2pm – 6pm

📍: 100 Galloway Rd.

You must be a registered BGC East Scarborough member to receive school supplies. Please note that lining up on the day of does not guarantee that you will receive materials, as it is on a first-come, first-served basis.

🎒 Back 2 Books is almost here! 🎒

We’ve been getting one question a lot: “How do I make sure I get a free backpack?” 👀

Here’s what you need to know:

Step 1: Become a BGC East Scarborough Club Member. Back 2 Books is exclusively for Club Members! An annual membership is just $10 and gives you access to programs, events, and member benefits all year long.

Step 2: Visit the Back 2 Books page on our website, click “Register for the Event,” log into your ActiveNet account, and complete your registration.

Step 3: On event day, head to the registration area to receive: Your Backpack Ticket (required to receive your backpack) Your Food Wristband
No backpack ticket = No backpack.

Your ticket guarantees you’ll receive a backpack.

Free haircuts and braids will also be available on a first come, first served basis while spots last!

Don’t wait, complete your membership and registration today so you’re ready for an amazing Back 2 Books event! 📚🎉
