We are a leader in community-based research and advocacy on issues related to the determinants

of health and wellbeing and increasing access to services for marginalized groups. We actively seek to break down silos and build linkages with other agencies to increase access to the services needed by immigrants and refugees. Access Alliance also operates a fee-for-service interpretation and translation service employing a network of professionals who provide quality services in more than 200 languages. Summer is a time when we get to create opportunities for youth to work in our community. In turn, they bring much needed talent, support, and fresh perspective to our programs and services.

Thanks to our talented team of summer staff, our schedule has been jam-packed with community events, field trips, programs and more. Our amazing group of youth brought fresh energy and new ideas to a wide range of tasks, jumping in wherever help was needed, from designing flyers and posts to collaborating on research projects to pitching in at our big event of the season, Summer Splash. Every day, they created warm and welcoming spaces for our newcomer community members.

Rowan, who supported our Youth program, shared "I have had an amazing time working at Access Alliance this summer! Everyone here is very kind and cares deeply about the people we serve."

We've had an amazing time working with you too, Rowan. And with Tsion, Rae, Vida, Tahiya, Devika, Jean-Paul, Wisdom, Nicole, Francheska, Sara, Fahima, and Ben. Thank you all for your hard work!

Join our team! We’re hiring qualified Community Health Ambassadors (CHAs) from Taylor-Massey, Oakridge, Victoria Village, Clairlea-Birchmount or surrounding neighbourhoods for our East Effort Program. There are multiple positions open for CHAs ($20/hr), and one CHA Lead ($25/hr).

CHAs play a key role in improving the health of community members through culturally-sensitive outreach, workshops, and other health promotion activities.

This is a great opportunity for east end residents with a background in social sciences or community development. Work directly with newcomers and other underserved community members, supporting health promotion strategies in a welcoming and diverse environment!

We made another splash — this time in the rainy east! 💦
When the clouds rolled in on Tuesday, we moved Summer Splash indoors. Our community members showed up with sunny smiles, ready for a day full of fun, culture, and connection for all ages.
From face painting and henna art to Zumba, live music, and a lively photo booth, there was something for everyone! Our seniors enjoyed their own activity tables, our youth had dove into games, and neighbours stopped by outreach tables to connect with staff and learn about our services and other resources. Plus, some lucky winners took home great raffle prizes! 🎁
💚 A big shoutout to our volunteers, staff, partners, and community members, whose positive energy made the day unforgettable!

We had made a terrific splash in the park! ☀️💦
On July 9, our community gathered in Woolner Park—and even the rain couldn't stop the fun!
With activities for everyone, our young and young-at-heart neighbours enjoyed henna art, face painting, basketball, salsa dancing, BBQ, ice cream, and healthy yogurt barks prepared by our dietitians!
