Insha'Allah we are available to help with da'wah activities (including presentations on Islam and da'wah workshops) around the GTA, and we are willing to support other efforts around Canada. In recent years we have witnessed a surge in vicious attacks on Islam by the Media which has resulted in an atmosphere of distrust and enmity towards the Muslim populace in the western world. In fact repeated
surveys have shown people continue to distrust Muslims and feel that they constitute the fifth column in their respective societies. As a result of this we have witnessed a marked increase in hate crimes against Muslims in various countries including association of Islam with violence. We believe a lot of it stems from the misconstrued representation of Islam either be it deliberate or from ignorance by the media. Therefore we feel it is our duty to inform people about Islam and what it stands for as opposed to the negative media rhetoric which continues to associate everything negative with Islam. There are a lot of ways which can be employed to inform and deescalate the environment of hysteria which exists today. One way we believe is to be out on the streets, available with Islamic literature including educated Muslims who can clarify and rebut allegations against Islam. We give out a variety of free introductory literature on Islam including a Translation of the Quran, small pamphlets and a DVD at Dundas Sqaure DownTown Toronto. We also carry literature in different languages like French, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Chinese, Russian, Greek and German.
