It takes a community—and ours shows up in incredible ways. ❤️🏠It’s National Volunteer Week, and we’re celebrating the amazing people—past and present—who give their time, energy, and heart to Fife House. From dedicated Board members to corporate teams, program volunteers, event volunteers and more, your support makes a real difference for our clients, staff, and mission every single day.

Last year alone, 76 volunteers contributed 949 hours—that’s over $17,000 worth of impact poured back into our community. And the momentum continues: just last week, we welcomed a dozen new volunteers at orientation, and we can’t wait to see all they’ll bring.

🥗❤️ What a night. What a community!

To all our guests and supporters who showed up at restaurants across the city - despite the rain - to show love and dine out for A Taste for Life yesterday—we thank and raise a toast to you! Because of you, restaurants citywide were filled with energy, connection, and purpose... and every meal and conversation helped raise funds, awareness and support for community members living with HIV/AIDS who are experiencing housing insecurity and other challenges. 🏠❤️

We are also deeply grateful to our many incredible Hosts, restaurant partners, and sponsors for making this event such a success.

We had such an amazing experience appearing on CP24 Breakfast Show with Bill Coulter this time last year to raise awareness about our annual fundraising event, A TASTE FOR LIFE! 🎥🎬 .

This year, A TASTE FOR LIFE is taking place this Wednesday April 15. Join us with your family, friends or colleagues for this citywide dining experience. 🍷🥗Take a break from cooking and treat yourself to a meal at one of many participating restaurants. Attention Peers and Staff from ASOs (AIDS Service Organizations): if you're having a hard time with grief and exhaustion in the workplace, or with recent developments such as the closure of ACT and more supervised consumption sites, you don't have to navigate through these alone. The next TTOA (Turning To One Another) Network meeting - a forum where you can connect with fellow peers and staff - is coming up on April 15th. Please see post below for details. ❤️ 👐

TTOA is a resource offered by ABRPO (AIDS Bereavement Resiliency Program of Ontario) - a trusteed program of Fife House.

These past few months have been heavy for so many of us. The news of the AIDS Committee of Toronto (ACT) closing its doors after more than 40 years of care, advocacy, and community has been deeply felt. At the same time, the closure of eight more Safe Consumption Sites across the province, along with ongoing funding cuts, leaves many of us asking difficult questions about how we continue to show up for Peers and for each other.

There is grief here. There is uncertainty. And for many, there is also exhaustion.

Aara and Craig want to gently hold space for Peers and workers to come together during this time - to speak openly about what’s weighing on us, to share how we are being impacted, and to remind one another that we are not alone in this.

This is a space for honesty, for connection, and for care. A space where we can lean on each other, reflect together, and find strength in community as we navigate what comes next. The true core values of TTOA - Turning To One Another.
