Torah in Motion Torah in Motion is expanding the horizons of Jewish thought for more than 20 years.

Torah in Motion creates a framework for dialogue among Jews of all ages and backgrounds. Together with some of the Jewish world’s best leadership, program participants examine today’s challenging issues. We initiate a "conversation" – through either personal attendance or electronically – where we can enrich our lives with knowledge and understanding of Judaism’s role in contemporary society. All our actions – our planning, programs, and materials – are facilitated by the internationally-recognized experts and scholars who comprise our faculty and roster of guest speakers. These brilliant minds come to our communities through both face-to-face and on-line programs which are rooted in:

* The study of Torah
* Jewish law and tradition
* The desire to cultivate spirituality
* Intellectual openness and critical thinking
* Love and respect for all Jews
* The centrality of the Land and State of Israel
* Adherence to the highest ethical standards

We offer learning opportunities through travel as well as daily and weekly thoughts and classes on relevant Jewish themes online and in person

Dating for marriage comes with big questions — about shidduchim, relationships, compatibility, and building a Jewish home.

On October 25, Torah in Motion brings together researchers, therapists, shadchanim, and community voices for a day of honest conversations about dating for marriage.

From understanding the dating experience and navigating red flags to developing relationship skills and getting unstuck, we’ll explore the realities of dating today — with new research, Torah-guided perspectives, and practical insights.

In this piyyut said whenever selichot are recited we ask G-d to answer our prayers just as he answered the prayers of our Biblical ancestors from Avraham to Mordechai and Esther. Fascinatingly, for many of those mentioned there is no indication in the text that they actually prayed.
