A Morning Hike & Yoga through Biidaasige Park☀️

Join us for a weekday morning hike through Biidaasige Park, one of Toronto’s newest parks, located near Cherry Street in the Portlands area.✨

The park is part of the transformation of Toronto’s waterfront, with new trails and green spaces that celebrate waterway restoration and reconciliation. Biidaasige, pronounced “bee daw si geh”, means “sunlight shining toward us” in Anishinaabemowin. ☀️

As part of the morning, we’ll pause for a 20 minute gentle Hatha yoga class outdoors led by hike leader and yoga teacher, Camara. The class will focus on simple movements and stretches and is suitable for complete beginners. No previous yoga experience is needed.🌻

Please bring a yoga mat or blanket and wear comfortable clothes that you can move freely in.✅

The hike will start promptly at 7am and will be concluded by 8.30am. Those interested can stay around for coffee at Dark Horse post hike. ☕️

This hike is a relaxed way to spend a weekday morning exploring a new part of the city, with some gentle movement along the way.

Start your Sunday with a peaceful walk along the Humber River! ✨☀️🏞️

Join us as we follow the river alongside peaceful ravines, lush greenery, and beautiful riverside trails. We’ll also be keeping an eye out for birds and wildlife along the way.

Our hike will continue along the Humber River recreational trail, all the way to Mount Dennis TTC Station, passing by the lovely James Gardens making for a longer hike and a great Sunday morning workout.

If you’re looking for something shorter or less challenging, there will be an option to drop out at James Gardens and to end your hike early. This shorter route is a great choice for beginners or anyone looking for a more relaxed morning walk.

Come for the river views, stay for the adventure!😁🌱

✨A summer stroll through Blythwood Ravine and Sherwood Park. 🌿

Another summer adventure added to the books. ✅ Summer days are hard to beat when they’re spent on the trails. ☀️ Thank you to our hike leaders, Tram and Jenny, for leading us through Blythwood Ravine and Sherwood Park. We were surrounded by towering tree canopy, vibrant blooms, peaceful ravines, wooden boardwalks, and sunlight filtering through the forest. Discovering the trails that connect Toronto 🌿

A couple of weeks ago, we set out on another cross-city hike, starting at Sherbourne Station and finishing at Cedarvale Station.

Along the way, we trekked through the Rosedale Ravine, explored Evergreen Brick Works, followed the historic Beltline Trail, and discovered just how many peaceful ravines, pathways, and pockets of nature are woven throughout the city.

One of the most memorable moments came as we walked through Mount Pleasant Cemetery. In the distance, we could hear beautiful classical music drifting through the trees, creating one of those unexpected moments that made us all slow down and simply take it in. 🎶

Thank you to our incredible hike leaders, Olavo and Daniel, for guiding us through another unforgettable cross-city adventure.

Every hike reminds us that there’s always something new to discover, even in a city we think we know so well. We can’t wait to explore more of Toronto’s trails with you on the next one. 😉🌱

Blythwood ravine & Sherwood park: Quiet trails, towering trees, and ravines.

Join us on a short but beautiful hike through Blythwood ravine & Sherwood park!

We’ll start by going through the tranquil Alexander Muir Memorial Garden, exploring its beautiful formal stone terraces and seasonal flowers. From there, we’ll descend into Blythwood Ravine, following a gorgeous forested trail along Burke Brook before continuing into Sherwood park. As one of the largest remaining protected natural areas in the city, Sherwood Park offers charming, picturesque wooded boardwalks that feel miles away from the urban grid.

Expect a gentle, beautiful loop featuring a mix of paved paths, dirt trails, and wooden boardwalks and stairs winding through mature woods and babbling brooks.

We hope to see you there! 🌳🥾😁☀️

Hello everyone! ☀️🥾

As we head into another season of sunny skies and warm temperatures, we wanted to share a friendly reminder to stay hydrated while enjoying the outdoors.

Whether you’re joining us on a hike or exploring your favourite trail, drinking enough water is one of the simplest ways to help you feel your best and stay safe.

A little preparation goes a long way, and together we can help make every hike a safe and enjoyable one.

Happy hiking! 💚🌿

🌿 Hidden Nature in the Heart of Toronto💚

Join us for a cross-city adventure that reveals just how much nature is quietly tucked away between the streets and skylines.

Starting at Sherbourne Station, we’ll head into the beautiful Rosedale Ravine, make our way through Evergreen Brick Works, and follow the historic Beltline Trail west before finishing at Cedarvale Station.

Along the way, expect ravines, wooded trails, former railway corridors, with a few street-connecting segments along the way. Following a brisk but comfortable pace, we’ll spend most of our time on trails while enjoying a diverse mix of natural and urban landscapes.

Looking for a shorter option? There will be an optional exit point near Yonge Street approximately 5.5 km into the hike.

We hope to see you there! 🌳🥾😁☀️

Information Sharing: The Scarborough Junction Community with Jane’s Walk Toronto is hosting a Jane’s Walk and a Jane’s Ride on Sunday May 3, 2026 from 10:00am – 12:00pm at Warden Hilltop Community Centre. The event will highlight the West Scarborough Rail Trail as an active transportation corridor and ribbon of recreational greenspace for hikers and cyclists and an important community connector for residents.

The trail follows a Hydro corridor, the historic GECO bridge and rail bed and a CN Rail line from Warden Subway Station to Kennedy Subway Station. The West Scarborough Rail Trail is the missing link in what could be a 25 km trail system connecting Lake Ontario to Rouge National Park via the Don Valley Trail and the Meadoway.

Participants of all levels will choose from either 4 hikes or 4 rides that will all start at the same time at Warden Hilltop Community Centre.

Check out this and all the Jane’s Walks at www.janeswalkfestivalto.com
