Information Sharing: The Scarborough Junction Community with Jane’s Walk Toronto is hosting a Jane’s Walk and a Jane’s Ride on Sunday May 3, 2026 from 10:00am – 12:00pm at Warden Hilltop Community Centre. The event will highlight the West Scarborough Rail Trail as an active transportation corridor and ribbon of recreational greenspace for hikers and cyclists and an important community connector for residents.

The trail follows a Hydro corridor, the historic GECO bridge and rail bed and a CN Rail line from Warden Subway Station to Kennedy Subway Station. The West Scarborough Rail Trail is the missing link in what could be a 25 km trail system connecting Lake Ontario to Rouge National Park via the Don Valley Trail and the Meadoway.

Participants of all levels will choose from either 4 hikes or 4 rides that will all start at the same time at Warden Hilltop Community Centre.

This weekend our volunteers came together to clean up Christie Pits. We picked up all kinds of debris, including some unexpected finds like tire rims left behind in the park. It felt great to work together and remove harmful materials that can impact our environment.

A gentle reminder to leave no trace when you’re enjoying the outdoors. Dispose of waste properly and use designated bins whenever possible. Small actions like this help keep our spaces clean, support healthy ecosystems, and ensure we can all continue to enjoy beautiful trails. 🗑️♻️

After a full day of volunteering and in honour of National Volunteer Week✨, we Thank for providing us with a yummy lunch. These delicious pizzas were the perfect way to wrap up a meaningful community effort and we sincerely appreciate the recognition.🍕❤️

We also Thank all our volunteers who came out and made this day a success!🌱✨💚💚💚

And of course, no hike is complete without spotting some beautiful flowers and unique plant species along the way.🌳🌱✨

Happy Earth Day! 🌎🌱

Every hike is a chance to experience the Earth up close. Forests, ridgelines, rivers, and changing skies all remind us how much there is to see and protect. ⛰️

Through every season and every kind of weather, the outdoors keeps showing up for us. ❄️🌦️☀️Thankful for the beauty, the variety, and the moments that stay with us long after the trail ends. 💚

Here are some photos from the many adventures the earth has given us! 📸

✨Highpark to Long Branch GO: Endurance Along the Waterfront 🌊

Join us to put your endurance to the test on a brisk 17 km hike along the stunning Great Lakes Waterfront Trail. Our route begins through High Park, with a chance to catch the last of the cherry blossoms 🌸, before continuing on to the Waterfront Trail.

We’ll follow it all the way to Long Branch GO Station, staying close to the shoreline as we pass the picturesque Humber Bay Arch Bridge and continue through Colonel Samuel Smith Park.

Convenient drop-out points are available along the way, and a beer stop awaits at the Canadian Legion at the very end, just steps from the GO station. 🍻
