HER VOICE, HER FUTURE | AN INTERGENERATIONAL CONVERSATION

One of the highlights of Mayabel Movement Int Canada 🇨🇦 (MMI)’s International Day of the Girl Child celebration last Saturday, October 3, 2026, was our inspiring intergenerational panel discussion.

Bringing together voices from different generations, the conversation created a beautiful opportunity for shared experiences, fresh perspectives, mutual learning, and meaningful dialogue on the challenges, opportunities, and future of the girl child.

A special thank you to our wonderful panelists, Michele Peter , who was the panel facilitator, Fúnmilọ́lá O. , Mama Joan Mary Irine Asanji and our young panelist, Arianna O. Imadu, Uptime Women Empowerment Org. , for contributing their unique perspectives to this important conversation.

The beauty of intergenerational dialogue lies in recognizing that every generation has something to teach and something to learn.
When we listen to girls, value their voices, and connect them with the wisdom and experiences of older generations, we build stronger pathways for leadership and empowerment.

Different Generations. Shared Wisdom. One Vision: A Brighter Future for Every Girl.

HER VOICE, HER FUTURE

Last Saturday, Mayabel Movement Int Canada 🇨🇦 (MMI) proudly celebrated the 2026 International Day of the Girl Child under the theme “Her Voice, Her Future”through an inspiring intergenerational conversation on the girl child.
This year’s UN theme is: “End child marriage and invest in girls’ rights!”

We were honoured to welcome Efua De-Heer ,as our keynote speaker, alongside our amazing panelists, participants, and community members who made the event meaningful and memorable.

From sharing her experiences to amplifying girls’ voices and celebrating their potential, we were reminded that every girl deserves to be heard, supported, and empowered to shape her future.
Video of her presentation is available on our YouTube channel (Mayabel Movement International)

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us, contributed, and helped make this celebration a success. Together, we continue to champion opportunities, confidence, leadership, and a brighter future for every girl.

When we empower girls today, we strengthen the leaders of tomorrow!
