We are at 165 ducks left. Please share with your friends and family let's get this full by the long weekend everyone wants cash and we want money towards our vet bill. Win win for all of us 🙏 😀❤️

Duck Race
This duck race is for Mr We**ie
Mr We**ie came to us on June 24th and flew out to River Park Veterinary Clinic on June 25th. His family brought him in saying he had been constipated for 2mths and they finally reached out for help 🤦. We graciously took him on and sent him out to our vet with the promise of them bringing money towards his bill on the following Friday. That never happened they contacted their cousin who did a few duck races and did send $995 towards his bill but to date the family has not even attempted to send $5 towards his care. His outstanding vet bill is sitting at $1951.40 plus he needs a surgery that is $2000 to repair the hernia and enlarged prostate being 9yrs old and not neutered to repair the problem. We have informed the family that as of today he is considered surrendered to rescue. We from our kindness are now left to cover his needs. We have had an amazing foster for him for the last 2 mths in Winnipeg God bless her. She has actually spent so much time literally training this handsome boy as he was not trained at all
Duck race will be 300 ducks $10 donation will get you a duck. Pay out will be $1500 to the lucky DUCK

Nene Update

This is definitely not the update I was hoping to post and I know no one else wanted.
Sadly sweet little Nene had to go to Rainbow Bridge.
Nene had a severely fractured pelvis and fractured spine. She had no deep tissue pain and did not poo or p*e since she was ran over.
Our hearts are completely broken this will definitely be a National Rainbow Bridge Day that we will not forget 🌈❤️

We would like to thank everyone so much that sent donations towards her vet care and for all the amazing prayers for this sweet little girl

Rest easy and run pain free Nene. We didn't know you long but we sure loved you lots. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Special Thank you to Jamie Young for literally sleeping on the floor in the kennel run with Nene overnight. I'm sure she absolutely loved having you by her side all night❤️❤️

Donations needed
This sweet little girl Nene was surrendered to rescue today after being run over by a truck. Thankfully her family brought her in and surrendered her so she could get the help she needs❤️. One of our staff ( Jamie Young) is having a sleepover with her at the rescue tonight as she will be flying out to the vets in Winnipeg tomorrow morning and we didn't want her to be alone all night ❤️. Her flight cost will be about $150.
We are pretty sure her back legs are broken, yes we gave her pain meds to make sure she is as comfortable as can be for the night. It's unsure how much her vet bill will be most likely high.
X-rays, blood work and then the determination of what course of treatment she will need. Our amazing friends at K9 Advocacy will be taking her to the vet and we would like to get the ball rolling on some donations for this sweet girl. If you can spare some coffee money or any amount $1 $2 $3 or $5 any amount helps.

How is it Demi is still not in her forever home? So many people commented and were interested but noone came to fill out an application for her. She is in foster, so if anyone would like to meet her we will need to know ahead of time to make sure she can be at the shop for those times.

A puppy does not need to be shaggy enough for a full haircut before learning what grooming feels like. In fact, the easiest first lessons are usually tiny ones.

At home, you can begin with a few calm seconds of handling: touch one paw, lift an ear flap, rest a hand under the chin, or make one gentle brush stroke. Pair the experience with something your puppy enjoys, then stop while it is still easy. One peaceful paw touch is more useful than a wrestling match with all four feet.

A first professional visit can also be an introduction rather than a major makeover. Depending on the puppy and the service offered, the early goal may simply be meeting the groomer, standing on the table briefly, hearing equipment at a comfortable distance, or completing a small amount of grooming successfully.

You can help by telling the groomer what your puppy has already experienced, which rewards work well, and where you have noticed uncertainty. That information lets the groomer build from familiar steps instead of guessing.

Early grooming is not about demanding perfect stillness; it is about helping your puppy collect safe, manageable experiences. Which grooming step would you like your puppy to practice first?

For grooming pups should have their 3 parvo distemper vaccines done these should be done at 8wks 12wks and 16wks. At 16wks they can also receive their rabies vaccine.

You can't be serious! How is Leafy still here...is a question we all ask ourselves everyday. He is the best boy, he is a senior spending his golden years in the rescue when he should be curled up on a comfy couch or bed with YOU! He is neutered and vaccinated, however he does NOT like cats and would do better in a home with older children or kids with respect that won't climb all over him and be rough. We know this will reach the right person eventually and he will have the life he has been waiting for, for far to long.

Meet Demi, shes about 7-8 weeks old. We have no info on the parents so can't say for sure on her size. Our best estimate on her size would be small to medium-sized. She is available for adoption. If you would like to meet Demi, she will be back at the rescue later in the afternoon tomorrow August 19th from being in foster since last Saturday. To fill out an application you can stop by Paws in Need at 160 Hayes Road Tuesday-Saturday, all applications are subject to approval.
Some requirements are a fully fenced yard, if you rent you need proof of approval from the landlord, if you have pets already in the home they need to be up to date on their vaccines.

Demi's adoption fee is $580 this covers
Vet check
3 parvo distemper vaccines
1 rabies vaccine
3 dewormings
And her spay
