If you came in this week to get your food packages and didn't receive any fresh produce, our donation came in.

Please come get some produce.

We will verify if you came this week.

Don't worry! Thanks to the amazing donations from Walmart Canada, we will have fresh produce donations every week!

Dear MKO Food Bank Members,
We would like to inform you of a recent security incident at the MKO Food Bank. On July 27, 2026, the food bank was broken into, resulting in damage to the building and the theft of several items. As a result, we had to temporarily close for the morning to ensure the safety of our members and staff and to clean and secure the premises.
Unfortunately, there have been three additional attempts to enter the building since the initial incident, including an attempt Monday morning and another early this morning.

The MKO Food Bank is committed to supporting our members and helping ensure access to food security resources in our community. We sincerely hope these incidents will not continue, as we want to remain open and available to the families and individuals who rely on this important service.

We have also experienced incidents where individuals have attended the food bank while intoxicated and have acted in a threatening manner toward our staff. This creates a serious safety concern for everyone, particularly families and children who access our services. Anyone who is intoxicated or behaving in a threatening manner will be asked to leave the premises and return when they are able to do so safely.

MKO will be reviewing and strengthening our current safety protocols and procedures and will make any necessary changes to help ensure a safe and welcoming environment for all our members, families, volunteers, and staff.

We appreciate your understanding, cooperation, and support as we work to keep the MKO Food Bank open and accessible to those who need it.
