Funding Still Available for Families Impacted by MMIWG2S+

The MKO MMIWG Liaison Unit would like to remind members of one of First Nations in MKO Region, that funding is still available through the MMIWG2S+ Healing & Empowerment Endowment Fund for eligible immediate family members impacted by Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, Two-Spirit and Gender-Diverse Peoples.

Funding may be available to assist with:

• Travel expenses
• Childcare associated with court proceedings or search efforts
• Education-related costs
• Costs related to bringing a loved one home
• Participation in ceremonies
• Memorial and funeral expenses
• Other healing opportunities

Eligibility Requirements:

• Residing in Manitoba
• Member of a First Nation in MKO Region
• Immediate family member impacted by MMIWG2S+
