Optimism Place Women's Shelter and Support Services Optimism Place is Perth County’s only women’s shelter. Since 1983, we’ve been a safe refuge for women and children experiencing domestic abuse.

Optimism Place provides secure, protective housing for up to 8 weeks or more for women with or without children. We also offer a wide range of free and confidential support services. We’re here to help women of every age, race, religion and income level. We understand what you’re going through and we’re here to help. It’s not your fault you’re being abused. We know this and we’ll help you take the

necessary steps towards rebuilding your life and creating a better future. If you have children, we can help them too. And remember, our support services are still available even if you’re not staying at the shelter.

TAKE BACK THE NIGHT!
Join us Friday September 18th for our 3rd Annual Take Back the Night event.

Take Back the Night is a global grassroots movement dedicated to ending sexual violence through rallies, to protest gender-based violence, shatter the stigma around sexual assault, and provide a safe space for survivors to share their stories.

Our event includes:
* Survivor Open Mic
* "No More Silence" Art Installation (by survivors)
* Community resources and supports on-site during the entire event
* Make your own protest sign and buttons
*March to end sexual violence in Perth

Our facility includes an elevator, automatic door openers, accessible washrooms, & accessible bedroom spaces to help ensure women can access support in a safe environment.
