We are quite excited to announce our monthly lecture on Tuesday, 27-October-2026 will be the The Casualty Identification Program: Commemoration, Identification, and Newfoundlanders in the First World War. Please join us with Alexandra McKinnon, a historian with the Casualty Identification Program at the Department of National Defence in Ottawa.
More than 27,000 Canadian and Newfoundland and Labrador service members remain missing from the First World War. The Second World War and the Conflict in Korea. The Casualty Identification Program works to identify the missing. This presentation will provide an introduction to modern casualty identification efforts, including several ongoing cases with Newfoundland and Labrador connections.
The lecture will start at 7:30 p.m. and is available for free to the general public via a Zoom link on our website (www.fhsnl.ca) up to 30 minutes before it commences.
