CALLING ALL KNITTERS - 13 JUNE 2026 WORLD KNIT IN PUBLIC DAY

As part of our Heritage Documentary - Prized by every Soldier (The story of the Famous WW1 Newfoundland Soldier Socks) we want to film Newfoundland knitters near an iconic site that relates to WW1.

We have the approval from the City and have insurance and medical coverage for the event

Background and documentary aim is after event info.

Knitters are asked to show up from 930 to 10:30 and then spend 30 minutes knitting and we will film them with a handheld and tripod mounted camera Saturday June 13, 9:30 am 10:30 am

Bowring Park at the Caribou Monument

Bring a chair Also normal stuff, like sun screen fly dope water etc

Bring something you have on the needles to knit, it can be anything.

There will be a videographer on hand to shoot some video for the Trail of the Caribou Documentary to air on NTV, November 11.

In case of rain all the knitters will gather under the eve of the Bungalow instead.

We suggest everyone arrive at 9:15 to have time to park vehicles and gather.

Today I had a most wonderful time with Peter Peter G. Elliott .

We have officily started the filming of Trail of the Caribou new documentary "Soldier Socks" WHICH IS A WORKING TITLE.

We spent a lovely few hours at Fahey Farm and Baynoddy Knitwear.

Linda Lewis demonstrated how to spin wool into yarn and we took some stock footage of the farm buildings and Peter filmed the source of the wool while Linda wrangled them.

The farm is a wonderful place and is open to thw public and they have the most amazing skeins of wool, sweaters, socks, scarves and delicious local jams and Jellies.
