In honor of Eg Walters’ more than 30 years of dedicated leadership to the Community Food Sharing Association, our office and warehouse will be closed on Monday, May 11 to allow staff to attend his Celebration of Life and pay their respects.

We are deeply saddened to share that Mr. Egbert Walters passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, May 3, 2026.
The Walters family and the Community Food Sharing Association are making this announcement together.

Mr. Walters served as CFSA’s General Manager for more than 30 years, dedicating his life to supporting the most vulnerable in our province. His compassion, leadership, and commitment to food security shaped our organization and strengthened communities across Newfoundland and Labrador.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, May 11, at Mazol Shriners, 530 Topsail Road, St. John’s, from 2:00–4:00 p.m.
All who knew him are welcome.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family and loved ones as we honor his remarkable legacy.
