Only 5 more sleeps until the big event!!!! Yard & Yardage at the Slocan Valley Threads Guild!
This much-anticipated annual event will take place on Sunday, April 26 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. It's our chance to celebrate spring with the community, a five-minute drive north of Winlaw, where Highway 6 meets Perry's Back Road. Admission is free. People come for lunch, baked goods and socializing, and there is so much more.
On the lawn there will be a 'garden centre' featuring plants for purchase. Experienced gardeners will help you with perennials, food plants (like berries and rhubarb), bulbs, tubers (dahlias!) and houseplants. Tables under shade tents will be laden with fabric, yarn, notions, equipment and books, all at good prices so that you can re-purpose, recycle and create with fibres for your own projects.
The walls inside the hall feature a display of members' latest works. With a $10 annual membership, you can join over 140 members, receive a weekly newsletter to be kept in the know, and gain access to an incredible library of books and magazines covering every aspect of the fibre arts.
There is no cell service or Wifi so bring cash and cheques, but no dogs please. For more information, call 226-7312.
