Slocan Owl Walk

Slocan Owl Walk The Village of Slocan is creating an interpretative Owl Walk showcasing the endangered Western Screech-owl and its spectacular riparian habitat.

The Village of Slocan in association with the BC Ministry of Social Development and Innovation has been approved to create an Owl Walk at the former site of the Valhalla Crew Camp, along the Slocan River, next to the Rail Trail. We want to engage our community by raising awareness of the endangered and red listed Western Screech- Owl. This owl is incredibly unique and there is only one known pair

in the Slocan area! The site will give visitors and students a place to eat their lunch, have a fire or take a walk to showcase the natural riparian habitat.
