🍫 Purdy’s Chocolate Fundraiser is BACK! 🍫

Help support the North Saanich Middle School Grade 8 Band while checking some holiday shopping off your list! 🎄

Chocolate makes the BEST gifts for coworkers, staff, TEACHERS (haha!), family, friends, stocking stuffers… honestly, do we need an excuse for Purdy’s? 😉

🔗 ORDER HERE:
https://fundraising.purdys.com/fundraising/campaign/000039848/team/17609

A few things to know:

🍫 Share the link! Send it to family, friends, coworkers, and everyone you know. Online ordering is usually the easiest way to go.

📦 NEW THIS YEAR: “Deliver to me”! This is a new delivery option, and I LOVE it! It means less sorting for our volunteers. 🙌

🎁 Choosing “Ship to Coordinator”? Orders will arrive at the school between December 4–9. We’ll do our best to have everything sorted by December 10, ready for pickup at the Winter Concert.

🚨 ORDERS ARE DUE NOVEMBER 26! 🚨

One important note: Sidney Elementary PAC is not running a Purdy’s fundraiser for the school this winter. Instead, we’re supporting the North Saanich Middle School Grade 8 Band with their campaign! 🎶

Every order helps support our local students and their musical adventures. Thank you for spreading the word and supporting our school community! ❤️

One of the loudest events of the year!

Are you ready to dance the fright away?

09/29/2026

Tomorrow there will be no school as we all observe the National Day for Truth & Reconciliation to honour the survivors of residential schools, those children who didn’t come home and the continued impact on Indigenous families.

“The Indian Residential School System operated across Canada from 1831 to 1996. For more than a century, Indigenous children were removed forcibly from their families and communities and placed in residential schools for [the purpose of removing the language and culture of Indigenous Peoples]” (https://victoriaorangeshirtday.com/).

Options for your reconciliation journey could include:

Wearing an orange shirt tomorrow to honour and acknowledge
Reading the “94 Calls to Action” in the TRC report
Watch any of the previously recorded videos from the NCTR https://nctr.ca/education/
Attending the South Island POWWOW at Royal Athletic Park
Learning more about Residential School History

Reconciliation through Education with NCTR’s teaching resources and educational programming make it easier for the public to learn the truth.
