March 21 is the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination. The origins of this day commemorates the events of Sharpeville, South Africa in 1960, where police actions during a peaceful demonstration against apartheid resulted in the tragic loss of 69 lives. This day serves as a call to action for individuals, organizations, and all levels of government to actively work to eliminate all forms of racial discrimination, injustice, systemic racism and hate.

SSMLIP re-affirms its commitment to promoting respect, diversity, equity, and inclusion and stands in solidarity against all forms of hate. Let us continue to educate ourselves, uplift one another, and work together towards building a safe, inclusive, and welcoming community for all. ๐ŸŒŸ ๐ŸŒ
