Today marks the final day of work for Neil Bergen, CFCR’s outgoing General Manager! Neil has been a staple of our radio world and has made many long-lasting connections and friendships in the Community over that time.

“I’d like to thank every host, volunteer, and supporter who’s contributed to Community Radio over the last 20 years. It’s been a privilege to be the General Manager. The station is all about Community - without the volunteers there is no radio station. I’d also like to thank every staff and board member who have made the station what it is today. It’s been a great 20 years and I look forward to seeing what the future brings for Community Radio.”

Thankfully, Neil will continue to host his world famous edition of So Many Roads every Thursday from 10am ‘til Noon.

Just a friendly reminder that we have a few spots to fill on our upcoming 2026/2027 CRSS (Community Radio Society of Saskatoon) Board of Directors, and we are ONE WEEK AWAY from the nomination deadline! If you would like to help shape the future of CFCR, we encourage you to apply and be a part of the fun.

Requirements of a CRSS Board Member:
- Two-year Board term
- Attend monthly Board meetings
- Participate in the planning and implementation of policies and initiatives for Community Radio
- Contribute to the forward success of Community Radio in Saskatoon (and beyond!)

Nominations are open until Thursday, May 28th, at 6 pm.

All current 2026/2027 CFCR members are welcome to apply. If you are not a current member, you can visit cfcr (dot) ca to become one today!

We’re giving CFCR members a chance to win Discovery wristbands to the Sled Island Music & Arts Festival in Calgary, AB, from June 17th - 21st, 2026. This year’s lineup includes clipping, Black Country, New Road, Etran de L’Aïr, HOMESHAKE, dead ex girlfriends, Yarbo, and many more!

We’ve whipped up a trusty Sled Island contest checklist:

1. You must be a current 2026/2027 CFCR Member. If you need to renew or sign up for yours, please click HERE!
2. You must be able to attend this year’s festival and pick up the passes in person at Sled HQ in Calgary, AB, during the festival.
3. Have a loved one, a friend, or a stranger to experience this great festival with you.

If all looks good on that list, email us your Name, Phone Number, and 2026/2027 CFCR Membership Number with the subject “SLED ISLAND” to contests (at) cfcr (dot) ca

Two winners will be selected (two (2) Sled Island Discovery wristbands per winner, worth $510) on Friday, May 29th, 2026. The winners will be contacted directly.
