It's been quite the week - as members from our new PT/SL Unit participated in the Canadian Labour Congress, our first member-lead PT/SL Faculty Divisional, and ongoing bargaining activities.

This Divisional saw the collaborative process of our members making our first by-laws, the election of our Precarious Workers Committee, presentations from our other CAAT units' leadership, and a continued discussion on what matters most to our members as we continue to bargain for a fair, first collective agreement.
During this Divisional, we heard from our diverse members about the barriers and systemic issues they experience in their college workplaces. Despite the variety of hardships experienced, members in attendance were vocal about raising the floor for all college workers, improving the quality of education for our students, and organising together (across Locals and divisions) to .
One thing became clear for all units - we all feel precarious in the jobs we are passionate about and the difficulty that it creates in teaching/supporting our students. As wall-to-wall CAAT, faculty and support staff (part-time & full-time) stand in solidarity against the dismantling of our public college system and will fight for the community colleges our communities deserve.
