The the Skill Trades conference ended with some good conversations as well as a motivational speech. What a great ending to a fantastic week.

Some photos from the Unifor National Skilled Trades Conference this week.

We got to listen to many different speakers this week.

The brought in some of the stations that are normally in the skill trades bus that goes around to different locations around Ontario to give people a way to try different trades. Mike and I tried the welding. There were a few electrical/electronic stations, as well as a virtual reality head set whic had different options to try. There was also a 3-D printer and a 3D pen, and a hair dressing station.

Mike and Chelsea wore Purple hats for the IPV memorial walk which happened on December 6th.

Chelsea also took part in the Women's Committee Caucus meeting.

So proud of our executive Chelsea for attending the young workers caucus. We love watching our executive members get involved with the different Caucus meetings during these conferences.

The Unifor Young Workers Caucus met this evening, after day one of Ontario Regional Council, discussing issues of affordability of housing, impact of tariffs and economic challenges like rising inflation, layoffs and youth unemployment.

Two of your executive members Mike and Chelsea are in Toronto this weekend for ORC. Here are some photos from day 1, we will try to update more through the weekend.

This week two of the executive members, Mike and Kaitlin, attended the Unifor National Skilled Trades Council which met in Toronto.

During our time there the National Skilled Trades Council raised $30,000 for Coco’s Cocoa for Kids in support of SickKids Hospital, with donations from Unifor National, the National Skilled Trades Council, Ontario Regional Council, regional Skilled Trades Councils & local unions.

We went in with lots of questions about the council and left with all the answers and more. We will have our full report at the next meeting.
