Please be advised that an emergency response exercise will take place on Thursday, June 4, 2026, from 9am-11:30am in Point Edward, ON.

During this time, community members may observe emergency vehicles, flashing lights, response personnel, and simulated emergency activity in and around Starlight Casino Point Edward and beneath the Blue Water Bridge.

This is a planned and controlled training exercise involving Point Edward Fire & Rescue and regional municipal, industrial, and emergency response partners.

In preparation for the exercise, a tractor trailer will be placed on its side on June 3 in the casino parking lot. This is an intentional component of the exercise.

This is a controlled training event. There is no risk to the community or the environment, and no public action is required.

Yesterday, Jason and Tracy from BASES had the privilege to welcome participants from the Governor General’s Canadian Leadership Conference / Conférence canadienne sur le leadership to Sarnia-Lambton for a tour and discussion on the region’s industrial landscape.

Aligned with this year’s theme, "Leading Canada’s Sustainable Prosperity", the conversation explored the history of local industry, the unique realities of operating alongside Indigenous communities and residential neighbourhoods, and the importance of transparency, trust, and strong community relationships.

Thank you to the group for the thoughtful discussions and interest in learning more about our region and the partnerships that continue to shape it. 🍁🍁🍁
