Once again the Knights of Columbus councils in Sarnia-Bright’s Grove held a “Baby Shower” drive, collecting over 100 baby items and $6150 (thus far) in donations for The Pregnancy Options & Support Centre. Generous parishioners from the Sarnia Bluewater Roman Catholic Family of Parishes and patrons from our KofC Bingo nights contributed to the effort. An application was submitted to the Supreme Knights of Columbus Council through the A.S.A.P. (Aid and Support After Pregnancy) program to secure further funds for the Sarnia Pregnancy Centre. The Knights of Columbus in Sarnia-Lambton donated $1050 to St. Patrick’s High School’s Grade 12 Business Leadership class for their Kind Seat Project, which promotes accessibility for students with physical injuries, mobility challenges, or special needs. The funds bought a bench and a decorative rock now placed outside the school. The students’ strong business plan convinced the Knights to support the initiative.

At its April 2026 meeting, the Knights of Columbus St. Benedict Council 11164 Sarnia honored Brother John DaSilva as Knight of the Month for his commitment to the Council and community. John has been a long standing and active member of St. Benedict Parish as well. Grand Knight Mark Roehler presented him with a certificate. Congratulations!

The St. Benedict Church community in Sarnia, Ontario, observed Laetare Sunday, the fourth Sunday of Lent, on March 15th. "Laetare" is Latin for joy. The liturgical color for this day is rose (pink), symbolizing joy and hope during the penitential season of Lent.
On this occasion, Fr. Brian wore a new chasuble, Deacon Dave was vested in his dalmatic, and the altar servers were all attired in rose-colored ceintures.
The chasuble worn by Fr. Brian was purchased by the St. Benedict Knights of Columbus and The Catholic Women's League.

On Sunday, March 8th, 6 individuals were inducted into the Knights of Columbus. They participated in a live Exemplification ceremony on Charity, Unity, and Fraternity with the help of the newly formed District Exemplification Team. Congratulations to the new members, the Exemplification Team, and everyone involved in recruitment efforts within District 61 in Sarnia - Lambton.

On February 21, 2026, members of the Knights of Columbus St. Benedict Council 11164 Sarnia and Monsignor A. Cook 4th Degree Assembly #0885 served as Honour Guard during the funeral Mass for Lady Diane Gagnon, wife of Brother SK Serge Gagnon. Brother Serge is recognized for his dedication and active participation within the Knights. The Mass was conducted at St. Benedict's Church, with friends, family, and a substantial presence from the Knights in attendance to pay tribute to Lady Diane at her celebration of life. May she rest in peace.

A big thank you to all those who came to St. Benedict church hall to enjoy a Shrove Tuesday pancake supper sponsored by the St. Knights of Columbus St. Benedict Council 11164 Sarnia and St. Benedict Catholic Women's League. Over 100attended who shared a good meal and socialization.
