Thank you to our incredible Russell House team, who hosted our C*C teams for their 5th Annual Corn Boil! 🌽

This tradition is spearheaded by our Team Lead, Rhonda, who goes above and beyond every year to make our youth and staff feel welcome, included, and VERY well fed.

There aren’t many places in New Brunswick more beautiful than Bloomfield in the fall, and we were lucky to spend the afternoon together outside, enjoying some incredible food, lots of laughs, and soaking in the beauty of the season.

Thank you, Rhonda and the entire Russell House team, for bringing us all together. 🤍

Homelessness doesn’t always start with losing a place to live.

Sometimes, it starts with rent that can’t be paid. An overdue power bill. An empty fridge. No way to get to work or school.

And sometimes, the right support at the right time can stop a difficult moment from becoming a crisis.

That could mean emergency rent. Groceries. Transportation. Family support. Practical help that keeps a young person housed, connected and moving forward.

As one of our earliest supporters, your three-year commitment was announced at the launch of our capital campaign. Your support changed so much- it signalled to our community that this project was worth believing in and gave others the confidence to believe in it too.

We will be forever grateful for the important role you played in bringing Mitchener Village to life. 🤍

On June 22 Centre for Youth Care Inc. officially opened Mitchener Village, a new supportive housing resource in Saint John for youth aged 19-25 experiencing homelessness. Young people are now moving in, building relationships with staff, and accessing individualized support they need to move toward greater stability and independence. Our Council committed $150,000 over three years, and our Secretary-Treasurer Tony Cosman (centre) presented the third and final instalment of $50,000 yesterday to Youth Housing Case Manager Amy Enman (left) and to Case Manager Lauren Haggerty (right). We are proud to be part of this amazing project that will provide hope and support for youth who age out of care.
