🩸 💙 Good Friends, Great Food & 5 Blood Donations! 💙 🩸

13 Rotarians. 3 Red Deer Rotary clubs. 5 blood donations. And LOTS of great Greek food! 😋

Tonight, members of the Rotary Club of Red Deer East, Rotary Club of Red Deer Sunrise, and Rotary Club of Red Deer Downtown gathered at All Greek to Me to celebrate 5 blood donations through our Partners for Life Team – Rotary Clubs of Central Alberta.

A huge thank you to AJ and Nina for being such wonderful hosts and providing incredible service. The Greek food was fantastic! 🇬🇷👏

A special thank you to our blood donors, Johan and Dianna, who were treated to a free appetizer in recognition of their generosity. ❤️🩸

And another big thank you to Paddy, who made a monetary donation to Canadian Blood Services in support of their important work. 👏❤️

Great food, great friends, and a great cause—that’s a pretty good night! 🎉

The Rotary Employment Partnership in Red Deer is a collaborative initiative between Inclusion Alberta, local Rotary Clubs, and Alberta’s government that helps create meaningful, paid employment opportunities for people with developmental disabilities.

Here’s how it works:

🤝 Rotary Clubs connect local businesses with Inclusion Alberta’s employment specialists.

💼 Employers receive support to match individuals’ skills with real job roles — not volunteer or token positions.

🌟 Employees gain long-term, inclusive work that contributes to both their independence and the community’s diversity.

🧩 Inclusion Alberta provides ongoing coaching and resources to ensure success for both the employer and employee.

The partnership has helped hundreds of Albertans find sustainable employment while strengthening community ties and promoting inclusion across the province.

💙 This year’s 50/50 raffle supports the Rotary Employment Partnership, helping create meaningful, paid jobs for people with developmental disabilities right here in Central Alberta.

# # 🩸 Blood, Burgers & a BIG Goal! 🎉

We kicked off the season with our first **FUN social evening** at Red Deer’s food truck favourite, **Shackelicious**—and what better way to celebrate than with some great food, great friends, and a whole lot of giving back!

Since August, our **Partners for Life Team** has added **8 new blood donations**! 👏

Five of our donors joined us for the evening—**Jeff, Aaron, Eric, Susan and Lori.** A huge THANK YOU to our other three donors too! Canadian Blood Services doesn’t share individual donor names with us, so we don’t know who you are… but **we know you’re awesome!** ❤️

Our challenge for the next three months is simple:

👉 **Who can YOU invite to join our team?**

Friends. Family. Co-workers. Neighbours. That person you keep telling, *“You really should donate blood!”* 😉

Right now, we have **48 team members**.

If all 48 donated **4 times a year**, we could reach our goal of **150 donations by December 31!**

BUT… what if we grew our team to **100 members**, and each person donated just **twice a year?**

Now THAT would be something worth celebrating!

Let’s Help Fill the Shelves at the Lacombe Food Bank!

Our local food bank is doing important work to support families and individuals in our community, but they need our help. Donations of non-perishable food items and monetary contributions can make a real difference for those who are struggling to put food on the table.

This Tuesday we are stepping up and having our annual Food Bank Drive! We’ll be at Lacombe Sobeys, Central Alberta Co-op and No Frills from 2-7pm

Thank you in advance for giving what you can - you are helping ensure that no one in our community goes without.
